I PRESHNT,The Mayor ,Clerk, Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; absent none. HE MIINUTES of the meeting of September 12th, 1927 were read and approved. BILLS, against the City, bearing the proper voouchers, and the approval pf the Auditing Committee were allowed and -ordered paid on motion by Alderman Harding, se conded by Alderman Pearson, 11 j Passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor, as follows, I.M.Ketron $10.00; Ben Porter $30.00;Ed Malone $15.00;A.C. Hart $0.00; Dave Condra $36.00, the Assessors in East Street Improvement District Number One, Annex Number One knd Annex Number Two to East Street Improvement Dstrict Number One; and from the Commissioners IIof University'Improvement District Number One were filed with the Clerk. 1927 Alderman Harding introduced a� resolution ltvying the City Taxes for the Year 1927, and LEVY IOF CITY11 moved its ad6ption. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion to adopt, which received the TAXES: following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Sta I nays none; absent and not voting none and was declared passed by the Mayor and bhe Resolutio l adopted. A copy is as follows; RESOLUTION TO LEVY THE TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1927 UPON THE REAL 3 a-� AND PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITSFOF THE CITY OF FAYETTEUILLE, ARKANSAS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: ' SECTION ONE: That the rate of taxes for CITY GENERAL purposes for the year 1927 be, and the same is hereby declared to be FIVE MILLS on the dollar of assessed valuation of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,as shown by the assess*.ent books for State and County purposes, and that the same is hereby levied; and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas to the end that the same may be placed on the Tax Books and collected with State and County Taxes. SECTION TWO: That the rate of taxes fpr FIRE DEPARTMENT purposes for the year 1927 be, and the same is hereby declared to be ONE and ONE-HALF MILLS on the dollar of assessed valuati of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, 1. S96TION FOUR: That the rate of Taxes for the purpose of paying the FUNDING BONllS of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,issued under the authority of Odrdinance number 589, passed and approved December 21, 1925 and in conformity with the provisions of Amendment Number Eleven (11) to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas,as the same may mature, for the year 1927 be, and the same is hereby declared to be TWO and ONE-HALF MILLS on the dollar of assessed valuation of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, as shown by the Assessment Books for State and County purposes, and that the same is hereby levied, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of 11.7ashington, County, Arkansas, tb the end that the same may be placed on the.Tax Books and collected with State and County Taxes, SECTION FIVE: That this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval, and all resolutions in conflict herewtih be and the same are hereby repealed. On motion duly passed it was ordered that the City Collector place an ordor'for a supply of License Tags for various City purposes. 224 )OLLEC- TIONS 1UTHOR- I ZED: EXCHANGE OF GRADERS: MCCOY OVER- HEAD IL TANK FOR TOR OIL ONLY: Alderman Pearson presented the following motion;- Whereas at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas held on the 12th day of September, 1927, an order was made by said City Council as set forth in the following excerpt from the proceedings of sai Council as recorded at page 219 of Record "C", Records of the proceedings of the City Coun cil, Fayetteville, Arkansas, to -wit;- "Alderman Pearson moved.that,the City Clerk be direct( to notify the City Collector not to make collections for the Sewer Improvement District Num. ber One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,until the assessment of benefits in said Dis- trict is revised and corrected by the Board of Assessment of said District, filed with the City Clerk, and notice of such filing is duly published, according to law. Alderman Stanforc seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none, and was dee clared passed by the Mayor."; I, therefore move that 0*44 said order be, and the same is hereby recinded, and declared null and void, and that the City Clerk notify the City Collec- tor to proceed with the collection of Sewer assessments as the same now appears in "Sewer Assessment Roll, 2 " in the &ffice if said City Collector. Alderman Drake seconded the motic which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays Al men Harding, Bynum, Jones, Scott; absent and not rooting none, The Clerk reported the vote a tie, whereupon the Mayor voted "aye" and declared the motion passed. The Mayor reported the result of his negotiations with the Arkansas Road Equipment Co., whereupon Alderman Pearson moved that the pooposal of said Company to exchange a larger and heavier grader for that now in possession of the City for an additional charge of approx- imately $218.00 be accepted. Alderman Jones seconded the motion which received the followint vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays nor absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The McCoy Coal Company applied for permission to instal an Oil Tank, of 182000 gallons capacity, to be erected above ground, on Lot 21, Block 14, Ferguaon's Addition to the City o Fayetteville, Arkansas;- said Tank to be used for Motor oils exclusively, and under no condi tions or at any time to be used as a container for gasoline, K=ros&ne or other inflamible material. Alderman Jones moved that the permit be granted according to the tenor of the foregoing statement. Alderman Drake seconded the motion which received the following vote, ayes Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanfmrd; nays none;ab- sent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mayoe.
