PRESENT, The Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Harding, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; absent Alderman Drake. of the melting of August 29th, 1927 were read and approved. VIMG BILLS agains$ the City were presented, bearing the proper vouchers and having the appro- val of the Audtlting Committee; Alderman Harding moved that the same be allowed and ordered p paid and the Clerk directed to issue warrants for the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Fuller,and was passed by the unanimous vote of the members listed above as present, and was so declared by the Mayor; Fayetteville Drug Ifo. $1;50;J.F. APPEALS: The appeal of Mr. James L Stice from the action of the Board of Assessment in Water Improve= I Pearson ment District Number Two came on for hearing, whereupon Alderman Hard f% moved that said appeal be granted as to the correction of the description of the lands of the said Stice, STICE: on the records of the collector; and that the other matters in the appeal be denied. Alder- ! man Scott seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Pearson, Fuller, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen i I Drake, and was declared passed by the Mayor. FRISCO:The appeal of the St Louis SanFrieco Railway Company from th action of the Board of Assessment Water of Improvement District Number Two of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas was presented, and duly passed, on motion/action on the same was continued to the next regular meeting of the City Council, IBOZARTH: The appeal of Mrs Sue Bozarth from the action of the Board of Assessment of East Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Afkansas was presented, where- I Jones upon Alderman ,#tkr l" moved that the relief prayed for in said appeal be granted for the �I reason that the re -assessment whereby the assessed benefits was raised from ,$561.50 to Pearson $950.00 was not properly filed and advertised as required by law. Alderman*RR11" seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Drake, and was declared passed by the Mayor. $EPORT OF The annual report of the Board of Improvement of West Lafayette Improvement District Number COMRS. ' Pl.ILAFAYETTE One of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas was filed with the Council. . Alderman Harding introduced an ordinance providing for the building of Fire Escapes on Certa I buildings,which was read the first time. Alderman Harding then moved that the Rules be suspe V� ed and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Alderman Jones seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Drake, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read the decond time. On motion the ordinance was then referred toy Jr Aldermen Scott and Fuller as a committee to investigate the probable effect of the ordinance I and report at the next meeting. , I It appearing that the American Legion had engaged a Carnival Coglpany to give exhibitions on August ll, 12 and 13, and had done so under the impression that they were to be releived of the license expense, Alderman Harding moved that the license $25.00, paid by said Ameriaan Legion be returned to them; Alderman FullXer seconded the motion which recei: I ved the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Bynum, Jones, SCott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford' nays None; absent and not voting Alderman Drake and was declared y g , passed by the Mayor. 218 ICARL: Mr Carl regmested that the lines of a certsin street.adjacent to his property on North College I Avenue be established by the City Engineer, whereupon Aldrman Jones.moved that the City En- gineer be directed to establish said lines. To the Honorable Mayor & City Council, Fayetteville, Arkansas. I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Board of North College Avenue Improvement District Number One and of Annex No. 1 of North -College Avenue Improvement istrict, effective at once. Respectfully submitted, Bert Watson. Whereupon .Alderman Harding.moved that the resignation of. Mr Bert l9atson be accepted. Alden man Fuller seconded the motion which received_the.unanimous vote of the Council, and was de- clared passed by the Mayor, and the resignation accepted.
