Also, withput formal action, the matter of making sewer connections in certain sections of the City was discussed and the Board of Health requested to enforce the ordinances in such case made. ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD MARCH 18th, 1927. The Mayor being absent, the Clerk called the Council to order, whereupon Alderman Price was duly elected to be President pros tempore of the Council, and took charge of the meeting. THE ROLL CALL showed the following present; Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott , Watson; the Clerk, absent, the Mayor. THE READING OF THE MINUTES of the previous meeting was, on motion, deferred to the next regular meeting. RAING # The President pro tempore announced the purpose of the meeting to be the hearing of the 33; of appeals from owners of real property in Improvement District Number thirty-three (33) of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, from the action of the Board of assessment thereof, in -Begg#- assessing the benefits to be received by reason of the proposed improvement, and directed that said hearing proceed. Whereupon Alderman Harding moved that in as much as the said owners of real property were desirous of more time for investigation before presentingi their claims, the hearing be continued to the next regular meeting of the Council on the 21st day of March, 1927 at 79&30 P.M. Price. { Un`-Lrs, yy�y� t (n ),1) THE MINUTES of the meetings of March 14th and 18th, 1927 were read and approved, i THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City , bearing the proper vouchers, and having the approval) of the Auditing Committee, were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to i issue warrants for the same on motion by Alder:pam Drake, Seconded by Alderman Hard&ng, pass ed by the unanimous vote of the members present and so declared by the Mayor; John Zillah $$142.37; Dave Condra $36.00; Heerwagen.Bros Co. $$6.50 and $11.50; Washington County Hard- ware Co. $$1.50. HEARING The appellante in the matter of the assessments in Improvement District Number Thirty - i 33; three (33) of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, being present, requested that said hearing be further continued, and thereupon Alderman Harding moved that said hearing be continued to the next regular meeting of the City CouncAl,to be held on the 28th day of March, 1927. At the request of Mr, Claud Sandford for the establishment of the Sidewalk grade along t#e front of his lot, Alderman Harding moved that the City Engineer be directed to establish sidewalk grade along the front of Lot 5, Block 3, Englewood Addition to the City of Fay- etteville,on VanDeventer Street. Alderman Price seconded the motion which received the unan- imous vote of the Council. The Street Committee presented a report on the request of the Beery Associations for aid I in the construction of a road along the North City Limits from the North end of Leverett Avenue to the Railway, and recommended that the City grant a subsidy of $160.00, to be p aid' if and when the Count of Washington County g paid a like sum; and Alderman Price moved that an appro- priation of $160.00 from the Street Fund of the City be made to pay said subsidy. Alder- man Scott secomded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting none, pI� and was declared passed by the Mayor. A petition asking for the passage of an Ordinance authorizing the making of a bond issue I I by the City for the purpose of assisting in the erection of a building to be used as an Armory and for general City purposes was presented by Capt.
