HELD JANUARY 31, 1927.

Present; the Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott
Watson.Absent, none.
THE MINUTES of the meeting of January 24th, 1927 were read and approved.
BIL 3 :IThe following bills against the City, bearing the proper vouchersand the approval of the
Auditing Committee were allowed on motion by Alderman Price, seconded by tlk&derman Harding,)

included the bill of the Magnolia Pebroleum Company for $13.18 for Kerosine bought during
August 1926; John Zillah, $123.75;Hudson Hardware $10.00; Washington Transfer Co. 25@ and i
$2J3; Dave condra ,$42.00;Phoenix Construction Co. $217.359, Albert Jones $4.50; Ed. Malone
$12.50;
The time for the hearing of the application.of C.T. Dye for permit to erect two
business buildings in Block 32, on lots 5 and 6 having arrived, Mrs C.B. Paddock and C.T.
Dye were sworn as witnesses, and testified in the matter, before the Council. Both sides
to the controversy having announced that they had nothing more to submit to the Council,
Alderman Harding moved that the Council go into executive session. Alderman Price seconded
the motion which was passed by the unanimous vote of the Council. After exhaustive discus-
sion by the members of the Council, Alderman Watson --moved that the permit be granted to
C.T. Dye for the construction of the buildings as applied for. Alderman Price seconded the
motion which recdived the following vote; ayes Ald rmen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake,
j Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the
motion passed.
The parties interested in the matter were then notified by the Mayor of the
result of the action of the Council

DISTRICT The time having arrived for the hearing of appeals in Improvement Dstrict Number Thirty -
31I One, Alderman Price moved that said hearing be continued to February, 7th, at 7;30 P.M.
HEARING:
Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phill
lips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays noe; absent and not voting

none. The Mayor declared the motion passed.
BAKERS A petition from the butchers and Bakers of the City asking the repeal of the ordinance
