Alderman Drake, for the Finance Committee presented a report on the Financial condition of the City, together with the proposed budget for the year 1927. After some discussion, the adoption of the budget was defered to the next regular meeting, The proposed plan of eqializing assessments in Improvement Districts, and providing for an expert assistant for the various Boards of assessment was discussed at some length, but no action was taken. On motion the matter was deferred to a meeting to be held on the 11th day of 4anuary, 1927. On motion the Council adjourned to January 11th, 1927 at 230 P.M.. � Attest; Approved; Clerk. l� Mayor. ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD JANUARY 11th, 1927a sent; the Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Phillips, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott; absent Alder - Price and Watson. The reading of the Minutes was deferred to the next Regualr meeting. The following bills against the City, having the proper vouchers attached, and the approval f the Auditing Committee were ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for he same; Geo J. Mayer Co. $169.15,Fllis Sutton, $10.00;Wm. L. Bleecker $14.00; Dr. Harrisdn ale $15.00;J.M. Goolsby $3;50.;;W.H. Rollins $1.00;. The matter of regulating the assessments of Improvement Districts was thoroughly discussed ut no action was taken. Drake lderman Hap4ligg moved that Alderman Phillips be sent to Little Rock to look after the Inte nterests of the City in the matter of the division of the gasoline Tax. AldermanHarding econded the motion which receibed the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Drake, Jones, ynum Scott, Harding, and was declared passed by the Mayor. No further business appearing the Counbil adjourned. Attest; r Clerk. Approved; Mayor, REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD JANUARY, 17th, 1927. Present; the Mayor , Claek,e Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson. The minutes of the meetings of January 10th and 11th, 1927 were read and approved. The following bills against the City, bearing the proper vouchers, and the approval of the Auditing Committee, were allowed and ordered paid on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Price, passed by the unanimous vote B the Council and so declared by the Mayor Geo J. Mayer Co. $79.80;J.M. Phillips $48.00;Jim Mitchell $6.25; Dave Condra $36.00;John Z Zillah $15.00. Alderman Watson moved that the hearing on the protests against the granting of permit to erect Business house in Block 32 be had at a special meeting of the Council to be held on Wednesday, January 19th, 1927. Alderman Jones seconded the motion which recetted the follo in@kvpke; Ave .Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Sones, Scott, Watson; nays none, and was declared passed by the Mayor.
