ceedings of the City Council of the Ity of Fayetteville, Arkansas,be, and the same is
amended to read as follows;"It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person or persons to
'park any motor driven vehicle upon.the public square or upon either side of East Center
Street betwean East Street and College Avenue, or upon either Bide of Block Street between
Center Street and Meadow Street for a period of time longer than Two (2) hours between the
hours of 8 o'clock A.M. and 6 o'clock P.M. upon all week days.
SECTION TWO;That this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after January 1st, 19
and a€ter- itspassage, approval and publication and all ordinances or parts thereof in
conflict herewith,specially Section One of ordinance number 639,be, and the same are hereby
repealed.

The Mayor appointed, as a special Committee, charged with the duty of devising and
reporting to the Council a plan whereby the assessments in Improvement Districts may be
adjusted annually, to the end that the expense of paying for public improvements shall

be more equitably distributed, the following Aldermen; Drake, Phillips and Watson.
\,(1y The matter of taking steps to secure the location of an Armory at Fayetteville was present-
�„q,� ed by Colonel Hooper, and informally discussed by the members od the Council.
Order The Assessment in Improvement District Number Thirty-one having been filed, Alderman
to
publish H&PEIIag Phillips moved that the Clerk be directed to publish a notice of the same
notice of
filing according to the law in such case made and provided. Alderman Scott seconded the motion

ent in 1 which received the following vote ayes Aldermen Phillips, Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson;

passed by the Mayor.

Present; the Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson;
absent; Alderman Jones.
The Minutes of the meeting of December] , '57, 1926 were read and approved.
The following bills against the City, bearing the proper vouchers,together with the bills
of the street sweepers, Condra and Mitchell and the bill of the City Engineer,were ordered
paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Phillips
seconded by Alderman Harding passed by the unanimous vote of the members listed above as
present, and so declared by the Mayor;-E.M. Ratliff $158.15;John Zillah $85.00; Allan M.

Wilson $10.00;Jim Mitchell $15.00; dave Coadra $36.00.

The report of the Committee charged with the duty of devising a plan for the better man-
agement of the matter of assessing Improvement Districts of the City made was presented
and informally discussed by members of the Council, and the Clerk was directed to prepare
copies thereof for the use of the members of the Council.

COMRS. We, the Board of Improvement of Improvement istrict Number Thirty-three (33) of the City o
IMPR. Fayetteville, Arkansas,respectfully beg leave tb report that we have secured the dervices of

33; E.M. Ratliff, of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, Civil.Engineer,as engineer of said Impro
Ient Distriet;that he has made the necessary plans, surveys and estimates to determine the

of pavement to be used within said Improvement District,and to determine the cost of
Estimates of cost were submitted on various types of pavement,but the type of pavement
ch has been adoptedis commonly known as Asphaltic Concrete and Concrete pavement, which
11 be conatructed on a base suitable to withstand heavy traffic,
tailed estimates of costs and plans which were prepared by the said E.M. Ratliff,are submitt
herewith for your consideration.
We have definitely decided that the streets within the sa
strict shall be paved 24 feet wide,exclusive of curb and gutter, and that East Rock Street
the East side of South College Avenue to the East side of Mill Street, shall be paved
ith Concrete, and that the remaining streets within said District shall be paved with
sphalt.
The highest estimated cost of said Improvement, exclusive of interest charges is the
Pum of $21,000.00.
To assess the benefits against the different lots, blocks, and parcels of
real estate within said District, we recommend that your Honorable Body appoint a Board of
Assessment at your eakliest convenience.

ASSESS- Alderman Wateex- Scott introduced a resolution approving the report and adopting the

33 plans of the Commissioners of Improvement District Number Thirty-three and moved its adop-
ion, Alderman Price seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen
Phillips, Price, Harding Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson, nays none; absent and not voting Alde
man Jones. The Mayor declarec the motion passed and the resolution adopted. A copy is as fo

APPROVAL OF PLANS.
WHEREAS, at a meeting of the City Council fo the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, held on
the 3rd day of January, 1927,there was presented to said Council by J.O. Mayes, F.E. Norwood and
Henry Barton, as the Board of Improvement of Improvement District Number Thirty-three (33)
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,their report, together with the plans of the work to
in the construction of the improvement contemplated by said Improvement District, and
said report having been read in open meeting of said Council, and to each member thereof
it appearing from said plans that the highest estimated c6st of the construction of said
ovement, exclusive of interest charges, is the sum of $21,000.00, and the said Council
g satisfied that said plans will best subserve the purpose of said Improvement District,
that the same are correct;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
