. Tne Mayor then announced the question before the Council is
ordinance pass, and called for the vote on its passage, which resulted as follows; ayes
Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding,.Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent
and not voting none. The Mayor declared the ordinance passed. A copy is as follows; -
ORDINANCE NUMBER 644.
AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE PER*
MANENT IMPROVEMENT OF THE INTERSECTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE
ARKANSAS."
WHEREAS: there has been formed and created within the corporate limits of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a certain Improvement District known as Annex Number One
South College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;

HWEREAS, it is the poli gy of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to aid in constructing
and maintaining permanent streets constructed under the Improvement District Plan; and
WHEREAS,The City.has assumed part of the expense of improving streets in 6 other improve -j
i
ment districts; j
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE:
That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the City of Fay -
etteville, Arkamsas, the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred and Twehty seven ($2,527.00)
Dollars, to be used by the Board of Commissioners of Annex Number One to South College
Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, in perma-
nently paving the intersections of all streets within said Improvement District, and
otherwise permanently improving the same.
SECTION TWO;
That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be and he is hereby*
instructed to draw his warrant in favor of whomsoever sand Board of Commissioners may de-
signate.
SECTION THREE:
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage, approval and publication.
Passed and approved this 15th day of November, 1926.

of the Auditing Committee, were ordered paid, and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants
,for the same on motion by Alderman Price, Seconded by Alderman Harding, passed by the unan

RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS a petition claiming to represent a majority in ownership in value of owners of real
property within Improvement District Number Thirty-three of the City of Fayetteville, Arkan
sas,said District being laid off, declared and.designated under Ordinance number 633 of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the purpose of improving by.grading, rmlling and paving
East Rock Street from the East line of South College.Avenue to the East line of, Mill Avenue
Mill avenue from the South line of East rock Street to the.Junction of the Huntsville Road;
and Huntsville Raod from the junction of Mill Avenue to the West line of the alley which
lies between Lots seven (7) and Eight (8) ,Block Two (2), Norwood's second Addition to the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Fayette
ville, Arkansas on the 18th day of October, 1926, asking that said improvement be undertake
and that the cost thereof be assessed and charged against the.real property situated within
said Dtitrict;
WHEREAS,said City Council of said City of Fayetteville. -Arkansas, did,.on the 18th day of
October, 1926, order and direct the City Clerk of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to
give notice by publication, in accordance with Section One, Act 1250 Acts of Arkansas, 1911.
that such petition had been filed and that it would be keard considered at a meeting of tY
City Council of said City of.Fayetteville, Arkansas,to be held on the 8th day of November,
1926,that all property owners might appear before said City Council and show cause for or
against the creation of such District and the making of said improvement;
WHEREAS,said notice was so published by said Clerk in accordance with law;,
WHEREAS,on said 8th day of November, 1926, the said hearing was duly continued by said Cour
oil to the 15th day of November, 1926, and
WHEREAS,on said 15th day of November, 1926, said hearing was.again continued by said
to the 22nd day of November, 1926,.and
WHEREAS,said time for hearing has arrived, and said hearing has.been.duly and properly had;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY F FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS,
SECTION ONE:That after careful consideration, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, finds there is a total assessed valuation of $21,695.00 on said real property
within said District according to the last assessment on file in the office of the Cpunty
Clerk
of Washington County
, Arkansas, and
that persons
signing said petition

ment.
SECTION TWO: That it is the finding of the City Council of said City of Fayetteville, Ark-
.ansas,that the majority in assessed valuation of owners of real property within Improve-
ment District'Number Thirty-three (33) of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,have signed
said petition,and the said District is formed by said City Council of said City of Fayettev
ville, Arkansas.
SECTION THREE:In consideration of said above mentioned petition the said City Council of
the said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,,has been guided.by the c&rtificate of the Circuit
Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas as to the ownership of said real property, and by the
certificate of the County Clerkof said County as.to the assessed valuation of said real
property.
SECTION FOUR:That all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be, and
same are hereby repealed and th&A resolution shall be in force and effect from and after i

THAT E.F. Norwood, Henry Barton and J.O.Mayes, three property owners of real property
within the limits of Improvement District Number thirty-three of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas,be, and they

A communication from the president of the Municipal.League of Arkansas was read to the
Council, calling attention to the proposed meeting thereof on the26th day of November, 1926
to consider the planning of measures for the promotion of the wellfare of the Cit*8s and
Towns of Arkansas, and urging the Mayor to attend; whereupon Alderman Harding moved that
Mayor and Alderman Phillips be authorized to so attend. This motion was duly seconded by
Alderman Price and received the unanimous vote of the Council.
On motion by Alderman Price seconded by Ald-rman Watson, and passed by the unanimous
of the Council it

ing that steps be taken to form an Improvement Distriot to embrace the property therein
