Mayor. i i REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCL HELD NOVEMBER 15th, 1926s, Present; the Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; absent none. The minutes of the meeting of November 8th, 1926 were read and approved. The following bills agagnst the City were presented, bearing the proper vouchers and having the approval of bhe Auditing Committee, and on motion by Alderman Price, seconded by Alderm and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council, were ordered paid, and the Clerk was di- rected t6 issue warrants for the same; Universal Traffic Control Co. $75.00; Washington Transfer Co., $5.26; John Zillah $36.25% Holcomb Mfg. Co., $38.25; Southwest Power Co., $391.25; Democrat Publishing Co., $120. Dave Condra $36.00. The time having arrived for the continuance of the hearing of the Second petition for the formation of Improvement District Number Thirtyfour of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and it appearing that insufficient data was at hand for determining the question of majority Alderman Jones moved that the hearing be continued to November, 22, 1926. This motion was seconded by Aldrman Harding and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mayor, I r. Futrall concerning the making of water connection with the Communi main on Maple Street and cutting the pavement therefor was read to the Council,whereupon cation; Alderman Price moved that the matter be referred to the City Engineer with power to act. Alderman Watson seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council. D.643 Alderman Price introduced an ordinance to further regulate the parking of Motor Driven vehi ARKING OF Iles on the Streets of Fayetteville, which was read the first time. Alderman Harding moved iFeT.F.RR CARS: that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance pi ked on its second reading. This motion was iseconded by Alderman Jones and recieved the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting none; and was (declared passed by the Magor. The ordinance was read the second time; Alderman Scott then moved the Rules be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. This motion was seconded by Alderman -Drake and received the following votes Ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson. nays none; zo absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the -Mayor. The ordinance was read third time. TION TWO: Nothing contained herein shall be so construed as to prevent the parking, in �/tvn accordAnce with existing ordinances, of motor driven vehicles in actual use and ready for their owner; and this odrinance is intended only to prevent prohibit removing motor driver vehicles held for sale,-rega#rr eterage-r-reqs#r-- repair, storage, or rental servlee or thher service from the building or lot where they are kept and parking,or in reality, storing, the same upon the streets. SENTMUN THREE: Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall �(M kb be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than Two Dollars nor more than Twenty Five Dollars for each offense. SECTION FOUR: That this ordinance shall be cumulative to all Traffic and Parking ordinances, 'jAand shall repeal only such parts of same that may be in direct conflict herewith, and shall u be in force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication. C Application was made for permission to park two Yellow Cabs in front of the Palace Theater) which was referred to the Mayor on motion duly made and passed, Alderman Harding moved that whereas it had been ascertained that the sum of $2,500.00 was incorrectly credited to the Hospital Fund when it should be placed to the credit of -the General Fund, the City Treasurer be instructed to correct the error by transferring said amount from the Hospital Fund to the General Fund. Aldrman Scott seconded the motion which receibed the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mayor. AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE PER'S MANENT IMPROVEMENT OF THE INTERSECTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVIL ARKANSAS." WHEREAS: there has been formed and created within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a certain Improvement District known as Annex Number One South College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas HWEREAS, it is the poli gy of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to aid in constructing and maintaining permanent streets constructed under the.Improvement District Plan; and' WHEREAS,The City.has assumed part of the expense of improving streets in b other improve -1 ment districts; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the City of Fay- etteville, Arkamsas, the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred and Twehty seven ($2,527..00) Dollars, to be used by the Board of Commissioners of Annex Number One to South College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, in perma- nently paving the intersections of all streets within said Improvement District, and otherwise permanently improving the same. I SECTION TWO; That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be and he is herebyl Instructed to draw his warrant in favor of whomsoever sadd Board of Commissioners may de- signate.
