MINUTES: The Minutes of the meetings of October4th and 8th, 1926 were read and approved;
BILLS: The following bills against the City bearing the necessary vouchers and the approval of the ,
Auditing Committee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrant
,for the same om motion by Alderman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Harding passed by the

was read the first time. Alderman Harding moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance
placed on its. ,second reading. Aldrman Jones seconded the motion which received the following
vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Harding, Drake,rJones, Scott, Ylatson; nays none; absent and
not voting Alderman Price. The Mayor declared the motion passed. The Ordinance was read the
second time. Alderman Jones hten moved that the Hules be further suspended and the ordinance
placed on its third reading a -d. final passage. Alderman Phillips seconded the motion which
received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott,
Watson; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Price. The Mayor declared the motion passed

AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE TO LEVY THE ASSESSMENT UPON THE
REAL PROPERTYLOCATED WITHIN ANNEX NUMBER ONE TO SOUTH COLLEGE AVENUE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUM
BER ONE TF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS".
WHEREAS,
The majority in value of the property holders owning property adjoining the locality
to be
affected, and situated in Annex Number One
to South
College
Avenue Improvement District
Number
One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,organized
for the
purpose of improving by I
,rolling and paving the streets and parts of streets within Annex Number One to South
College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, have
etitioned the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,for the construction of
said improveme t, and theat that the costs thereof shall be assessed upon the real property
f said District according to the benefits to be received; and
IuJHEREAS,
slid benefits received by each block, lot and parsel of real estate situated in sai
(District equals or exceeds the local assessment; and
WHEREAS,
the estimated cost of said improvement is $180626.42;
'NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
,SECTION ONE:
That said several blocks, lots and parcels of real property in said District, be',
assessed according to the assessment list for said Improvement District, as the same now
remains in the office of the Recorder or City Clerk, and that 10 per centum on said blocks,
lots and parcels shall be paid annually on or before the first Monday in November until the
whole of said local assessment shall be paid.
ISFCTION TWO:
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the
same are hereby, repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and- approval and publication.

pump located on North Leverett, subject to the approval of the City Engineer. This motion
was/ seconded by Alde rman Scott and received the unanimous vote of the members present.
Alderman Drake moved that the Mayor and the City Engineer be authorized to contract for
the construction of a culvert or a surface drainage on the Prairie Grove Road at a point
west of theoverhead crossing of the Frisco on said Road. Alderman Phillips seconded the
motion which was passed unanimously.
No further business the Council adjourned to Friday, October 15th, 7;30 PhM.

Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas are
the same parties as above mentioned, and the territory embraced in the said Annex is the
same as that in the said District Number Thirtytwo, the hearing in said appeals be also
continued to the next regular meeting. This motion was duly seconded by Alderman Jones and
received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones,
Scott, Watson; nays none; and was declared passed by the President pro tempore.
