Street Committee and the Mayor with power to act, on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by

Alderman Harding introduced an Ordinance creating Improvement District Number 33, which
was read t%:e first time. Alderman Price moved that the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance
placed on its second reading. This motion was -seconded by Aldetman Drake and received the folie
lowing vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; I
nays none; absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance
was read the second time. Alderman Drake them moved that the Rules be further suspended and
be Ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. This motion w•is seconded by

SERVICE An Ordinance to regulate Service Comnections was pree-- introduced by Alderman Bynum, and
read the first time. Alderman Phillips moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance
CONNEC- placed on its second reading. This Motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and received the
following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Hardinf, Drake, Bynum, Sones, Scott, Watson;
TIONS nays None ; absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed. The ordinance
was read the second time.
On motion, the Mayor the n appointed a committee composed of Aldermen Bynum, Phillips and
Harding to confer with the Board of Water Managers with reference to the subject matter of
the ordinance.
LOCATION The matter of selecting the proper locations for the Street lights under the new Contract

EET as discussed informally, and finally referred to the Light Committee, composed of Aldermen

A communication from the Board of Managers of City Water Plant was referred to the Mayor,whoi
was requested to meet with the Board for conference on the subject matter of said communi-
cation;viz; the metod of regulating the making of connections with the water mains.
A request for permission to install an electric sign at the corner of South School Avenue allA
Prairie was referred to the Chairman of the Street Committee.
Alderman Harding introduced aX resolution leyting the city taxes for the year 1926, and
1926 moved its adoption. Aldergian Price seconded the motion which received the following votey'

IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:

That hthe rate of taxes for FIRE DEPARTMENT purposes for the year 1926 be,and itl
is hereby declared to be ONE AND ONE-HALF (12) mills on the Dollar of assessed valuation of
all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansa
as shown by the Assessment Books for State and County purposes, and that the same is hereby
ilevied,and the Mayor and the City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and directed to
certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas,to the end that said
levy may be placed on the Tax Books and collected with State and County Taxes.
