SECTION TWO: That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant on the general.Street Fund of the City of Fay- etteville, Arkansas, for the.sum of Four Thousand Dollars,said Warrant to be due and payable on demand, and to be made in favor of whomsoever the Board of Improvement of said District may d&recto SECTION THREE:That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication. Approved; .� & Mayor. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AUGUST 23rd, 1926. Present, The Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson; absent Alderman Jones. MINUTES:I The minutes of the meeting of August 16th, were read add approved; BILLS:I On motion by Alderman Price, seconded by Alderman Watson passed by the unanimous vote of REPORTS: REPORT OF CIES HILL STR. ASSESSOR, G.N.CADE. 0 • he members peesent, and sodeclared by the Mayor the bills of the Street Cleaner, #36.00; and John Zillah $30.00 were allowed and ordered paid, and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants for the 'same. The report of the Commissioners of West Lafayett Improvement District No. One was presentee and on motion was ordered filed. On motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Ald� man—Price, and passed by the unanimous vote -of the members present, and so declared by the Mayor, the Clerk was dmredted to notify all Commissioners of Improvement Districts to include in their annual reports a list showing delinquencies in their respective Districts. Alderman Price introduced the following resolutionp and moved its adoption. Alderman Drae] seconded the motion which received the following vote;ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Hardie Drake, Bynum, Scott,Watson; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Jines. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted. A copy is as followsa- RESULUTION. WHEREAS, There exists a vacancy in the membership of the Board of Assessors of Hill Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, by reason of the removal from the City of J.G.Waugh; Now, therefore, be it resolved by the city council of the city of fayetteville, arkansas; That Geo. N. Cade, a property holder in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, anda qualified elector therein be, and he is hereby, appointed to be a member of the Board of Assessors of said Hill Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and that this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. .� H.S.Price. Requests for the establishment of grades for sidewalks at the intersection of St. Chanes Lafayett, and on South Locust Street were presented and on motion duly made and passad granted, and the City Engineer was directed to make the necessary surveys. A petition pertaining to the location of mains in Water Improvement District Number Three as presented, and on'motion by Alderman Harding was referred to the Commissioners of sa&d istrict. The Clerk repoebed taht the Commissioners of North Leverett Avenue Improvement District t had paid for the expenses previously paid by the City i8 the matter of the litigation between said District and Water Improvement District Number Two, and that the sum, $25.00, been turned int& the City General Funds Mrs Bruce Holcomb was present and lAid before the Council some of the difficulties in the way of the paving University Street, which led to an informal discussion of the matter, in he course of which Alderman Harding voluntered to solicit funds from the public for the ayment of that part of said Street adjacent to the Evergreen Cemetery. i .W.HAWKINS J.W.Hawkins presented to the Council his application for license to delve -e- operate TAXI LICENSE. a Taxi Line on the Streets of the City. On motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Drake and passed by the unanimous vote of the members present, the application was granted, bd the City Collectoe directed to issue the license, in accordance with the Ordinance for case provided.
