Present; the Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson; absent Jone,
and Phillips.
The
Minutes of
the meeting
of July, 19th were
read and
approved.
The
following
bills against
the City, having
the proper
vouchers.attached, and having re-
ceived the approval of the Auditing Committee.were allowed, and ordered paid, and the Clerk
was directed to issue warrants therefor, upon -motion by Alderman Price, seconded by Alder-
man Harding, passed by the unanimous vote of'the members present, and so declared by ther
Mayor; -The Surety Products Co. $13.00; Robert Phillips $17.85;H.C.Palmer $$16.15, and $142.50
Jim Mitchell $p3.78;Magnolia Petroleum Co. $16.50.
The Clerk reported that he had issued Warrant Number 10,585 for the sum of $1,904.75, on t)
due August 1st, 1926
the Bond Fund in payment of the six months interest on the City Bonds/and the collection
charges.

the sale of

which was
read the
first time.
Alderman Harding
moved that
the Rules be
suspended
and the
ordinance
placed
on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and received the fo
vote;
ayes Aldermen Price,
Harditg,
Drake,
Bynum, Scott, Watson, nays none; absent and not
voting
aldermen Jones and
Phillips,
and was
declared passed by the Mayob. The ordinance
was read the second time. Alderman Harding then.moved that the Rules be further suspended
and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final.passage,.A;darman Drake seconded the
motion which received the following vote; -ayes A;dermen Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott
Watson; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jones and Phillips, and was declared passe
by the Mayor. The ordinance was read the third._time. The.Mayor then.called for thw voted on
the passage of the ordinance, which resulted as _follows;- ayes Aldermen Price, Harding,
Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jones and Phillips.

ORDINANCE NUMBER 629.
AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE SELLING OR EFFERING FOR SALE
FROM ANY PARKED VEHCLE, ANY FRUIT, MELONS OR OTHER PRODUCE UPON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE:
That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to sell or offer
for sale from any parked vehicle, upon any paved street within one.block of the Public Squ
or within one bolck of the Court Houee, orwithin one block of the intersection of Dickson
Street and West Avenue, any fruit, melons or other produce.
SECTION TWO:
That the term "Parked Vehicle" as used in this ordinance is inyended to mean and
does mean any vehicle, horse drawn or motor driven, which is brought to a complete stop and
remains stationary for more than ten (10) minutes.
SECTION THREE:
That nothing contained in this ordinance shall be so construed as to prohibit
any person or persons from selling or offering for sale, any fruit, melons or other produce
from house to house, or from store to store.
SECTION FOUR:
That the City Wagon Yard is, and shall remain, open at all times for the use of
persons desiring to sell fruit, melons or other produce from parked vehicles.
ISECTION FIVE:
That any person or persons violating any of the provision of this ordinance
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum
!not less than Two (2) Dollars, nor more than ten (10) Dollars for each offense.
'SECTION SIX:
That this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage,

approval and publication, and that all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be,
and the same are hereby, repealed.

Alderman Harding introduced a resolution appointing Commissioners for Improvement Distri
DISTRICT
Number 32, and moved its adoption. This motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and received

the following vote; ayes Aldermen Price, Harding, Drake,.Bynum, Scott, Watson; nays none;
absent and not voting Aldermen Jones and Phillips. The Mayor declared the motion passed and
the aesmlution adopted. A copy is as follows; -

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE:
That M.L.Holt, H.L.Jett and J.W.Robinson, three owners of real property within
Improvement District Number Thirty-two (32) of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,be, and
the same are hereby appointed to constitute the Board of Improvement of said District Number
Thirty-two (32) as provided in Section 5652, Crawford & Moses Digest of the Statutes of

Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,be,
and the same are hereby, appointed to constitute the Board of Improvement for Annex Number
One to Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,,
as provided in Sections 5652 and 5733, Crawford & Moses Digest of the Statutes of Arkansas.
SECTION TWO:
That all resolutions in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby, repealed,
and this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval

On motion by AldermanPrice, duly seconded and passed the Clerk was directed to notify the
Commissioners of Water Improvement District Number Three of the rgequirements of the city
in the matter of laying mains.
On motion by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Harding and passed by the unanimous
vote of the members present, the City Engineer was directed toestablish the grade for a
sidewalk at the corner of Vandeventer and Ila.
No further business'appearing the Council adjourned.

WHEREAS,
B.F.Campbell, D.M. Allen and A.C.Ucker, as the Board of assessment of Improvement
istrict number.Thirty-one (31) of the.City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, did, on the 30th day
f July, 1926 ,deposit with the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,the assess-
ent of benefits in said Improvement District, duly subscribed by each of them,
