This motion s seconded by Aldrman Harding and received the following vote; ayes Aldrmen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum. The Reading of The Minutes of the meeting of July 6th, 1926 was waived, and postponed to the next im The application of the Continental Oil Cpmpqny for a permit to build an Oil and Ga Station at the corner of College and Lafayett, was filed;and also a formal protest signed by a number of citizens, resident in that locality. the claims of the Oil Company were presente by a representative , and the plea of the objectors was presented by Attorney W.N.Ivie; following which 41derman Price moved that the application be denied. This motion was by Alderman Harding and received the following vote; ayes Aldrmen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott; nays Alderman Watson; absent and not voting Alderman Johes, and was deciared passed by the Mayor. On account of the illness of the Hon. W.H.Rollins, Police Judge, the Mayor suggested the appointment of an Acting Police Judge, whereupon Alderman 4941*moved that Col. C.F. 52 ACTING Armistead be appointed as such Acting Police Judge to serve during the time that Judge POLICE JUDGE Rollins is incapacitated. This motion was seconded by Alderman Watson, and received the fol- lowing vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding,_ Drake,..Scott, Bynum, Watson; nays None; absent and not voting Alderman Hones, and was declared -passed by the Mayor. CUT PAVE- The application of Mrs. Wm. R. Lighton for.permission to cut the Pavement of[ Ida Avenue f. 14ENT, IDA AVE. the purpose of making water connection.was.granted subject to supervision 'by the Mayor and City Engineer, with the usual.restriu.tions as to bond.f.or.repairing the street. Alderman Wasson introduced an ordinance.providing.for.the repeal of ordinance no. 610, which was read the first time. Alderman Scott. moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion.was .seconded by Alderman Bynum and ree eeived the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips,..Price, Harding,. Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson; nays none; abserib and not voting Alderman Jones,.and'was declared passed by the Mayor. The ordinance was read the second time,. and.so remains. BILLS: On motion by Alderman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Harding', passed by the unanimous vote of the members present, and so decl.ared.by the -Mayor, the following bills,having been approved by the Auditing Committee, were allowed.and ordered paid,and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same. Improvement District, and after deducting said amounts to issue a warrant to the Board of Trustees of the Hospital for the remainder.of-the Hospital Fund. REALTOR'S A petition asking that steps be taken to curb the';activities of un -licensed Real Estate PETITION agents was presented and on motion by Alderman Drake,` seconded by Alderman Scott, and duly passed, the petition was ordered received and filed. Alderman Harding introduced an.ordinance repealing ordinance number 625, which was read the first time. Aldrman Harding moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Drake, and received the follow- ing vote; ayes Alderman Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake., Sbott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Bynum and Jones, and was declared passed by the Mayor..The ordinance was read the second time. Alderman Price then moved that thz Rules be furtherioduspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. This motion was seconded by Alderman Drake, and received the.following vote;:ayes.Aldermen.Phillips, Price, Harding.. Drake, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not doting Aldermen Bynum and Jones, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read the third time.
