The Minutes of the adjourned meeting of Junel8th, 1926.were read and approved.
The following bills against the City were allowed and.ordered_paid, and the Clerk was di-
rected to issue warrants for the same, on.motion by Alde.rman.Phillips,. seconded by Alderma
Harding and passed by the unanimous vote of..the..members present; -Robert Phillips, $14.00;
Lewis Brothers Company $6.55;Patterson-Blair Co..$2.50; Dave Condra $36.00.
A communication from Mrs Rochier relative to the draining-of._Rochier's Pond was referred
to the City Health officer, Dr. A.S.Gregg.
Mr. McGill served notice that he wpuld oppose the granting.of.a_permit for the building of
a Filling Station at the corner of Lafayett.and College Avenue.
Alderman Harding introduced an ordinance providing..for.the levy of the assessment in Annex
Number One to North College Avenue Improvement District Number -One, which was read the
first time. Alderman HardAng moved that tye Rules be.suspended and the ordinance palced on
its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and recei ved the followin
vote, ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price Harding, Drake, Scott, Watson, Bynum; nays none; absen
and not voting Aldrman Jones, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read
the second time. Aldrman Price then moved that the Rules be further duspended and the
Ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. Aldr•erman Scott seconded the moei�
tion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price Harding Drake, Bynum
Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not voting A1defman Jones , and was declared passed
by the Mayor. The oddinance was read the third time. The Mayor then announced the question
before the Council is Shall the ordinance pass and called -for -the vote on its passage,
which resulted as follows; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price Harding , Drake, Bynum, Scott, Wa
Watson; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Jones. The Mayor declared the ordinance

PROPERTY WITHIN ANNEX NUMBER ONE TO NORTH COLLEGE AVENUE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER ONE
OF THE CITY OB FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS."
WHEREAS,
The majority of property holders owning real property adjoining the lovality to be
affected, and situated in Annex Number One to North College Avenue Improvement District
Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,organized for the purpose of grading, ro117
and paving with concrete pavement East Spring Street.from.the East.line of North College
Avenue to the West line of Willow Avenue, in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, have petits
ed the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,.for the construction of said
improvement, and that the cost thereof be charged and assessed against the real property
within said District, according to the benefits to be received; and
WHEREAS:
The benefits received by each Lot, Block or parvel of land situated within said
District equals or exceeds the local assessment; and
WHEREAS:
The estimated cost of said improvement is $8,014.43,
NWO, THEREFORE, BE IT HGRDANI•- BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That said several Lots, Blocks or parcels of real property within Annex Number;
One to North College Avenue Improvement District Number Ine of�the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, be assessed according to the assessment list for said District as the same now
remains in the office of the City Clerk or Recorder of the said City of Fayetteville,

and that ten per -centum on said Lots., Blocks or paecels..of real property shall be paid
annually on or before .the.fir.st.Monday in.December_.in.each.year,.beginning with the year

SECTION TWO:
That-all-ordinances._or.par_ts_of..Ordinances.in._conflict herewith be, and the
same are hereby repealed, and_this..ordinance_.shall..take._effect and.be in force from and
after its passage,..approval...and publication.

Alderman Price moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its secomd
reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and received the following vote; ayes
Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watson; nays none; absent and not
Voting Alderman Jones, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The ordinance was read the
second time. Alderman Watson then moved thdt the Rules be further suspended and the ordies

NUMBER ONE TO NORTH COLLEGE AVENUE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NYMBER ONE OF THE CITY OF FAY-
ETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.'
BE..I ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE:
That there is hereby appropriated out of the Street fund of the City of Fay-
etteville, Arkansas, the sum of Two Thousand (#2,000.00) Dollars in cash for the purpose of
paving the intersections of streets in Annex.Number.One to North College Avenue Improvement
District Number One of the City of FFyetteville, Arkansas,including the intersection of
East Spring Street and Willow Avenue,
SECTION TWO:
That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to issue a warrant on the Street Fund of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas,in the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars, said warrant to be due and pay-
able on demand, and to be amde in favor of whomsoever the Board of Improvement of said
District may direct.
SECTION THREE:
That this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication, and all ordinances.in conflict herewith are hereby repealed,
specifically repealing ordinance No. 594.

A communication from Dr. A.S. Gregg, showing that said Pond had been put in healthful
condition was read to the Council, and -on motion was ordered filed.
Alderman Price introduced the following resolution and moved -its. -adoption; this motion was
seconded by Alderman Harding and received the following.vote,.ayes, Aldermen Phillips, Price
Harding, Drake, Bynum, Scott, Watsom; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Jones, and
was declared passed and the resolution adopted by the. Mayor ; A copy is as follows; -

WHEREAS: said Council
At a meeting of the City Council.held ;"a.on the -24th day of May, 1926,/did, by

resolution duly adopted, appoint B.F.Campbell, W.L.Crouch and A.C.Ucker, three qualified
electors of the City of Fayetteville, Arkqnsas to be the Board of Assessment for Improve-
ment Distrbct No. Thirty-one; of said City;
WHEREAS:
the said B.F4Campbell, W.L. Crouch and A.C.Ucker failed to qualify within the time
specified by law; and
WHEREAS:
B.F.Campbell and A.C.Ucker have signified their willingness and W.L.Crouch has sig-
nified his un -willingness to serve as such Assessors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE:
That B.F.Campbell, A.C.Ucker and D.M.Allen, three qualified electors -of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas be, and the same are hereby appointed to be the Board of
Assessment of Improvement District Number Thirty-one of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;
to assessthe benefits to be received by each Lot, Block or parcel of real property situated
within Improvement District Number Thirty-one of.the; City of Fayetteville, Srkansas..
