WHEREAS, the minutes of the proce'edinge.of-said cd oil;.prepared and kept by the.duly elected, qualified
and acting city Clerk of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, show each separate motion made,and the passage
and omit to record the fact.1that said Ordinance was read the second time and that said Ordinance
read the third time; and
i►HEREAS, said Ordinance was in fact r8ad three t,!®a separate and distinct times, under a proper suspen-
sion of the rules and by a recording of the yea and nay vote, as by a statute in such cases made and
provided;
NOWO THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE:- That the City 91erk of the City of Fayittevillei Arkansas, bei and he is herebyrauthorised
and directed to correct said minutes,, by interlinestion, and make �hen speak the truth, by showing
thit said Ordinanoo Number 676 was read the second time and that said Ordine=3 was r6ad the third
time.

Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Price, moved that permission be granted J. Me Hamilton to out the
curb on "ashington Avenue adjacent to his property fdr the purpose of.building a driveimy*, Work to be
done under the supervision of the City fEngineer.. This motion xKz received the unanimous vote of the
Council and was declared passed by the Mayor.
On motion the "ounoil adjourned to meet at 7:50 P. M., January 19, 1926.
ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD JANUARY 19th, 1926
Pursuant to adjournment of the meeting of the City Council held January 18, 1926, and
of the yfi#j!,i'ncalled meeting of said Council held January 19th at 4 o'clock P.M., the
Council met at 7.30 P.M. of January 19th, 1926.
PRESENT, The Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Phillips, Price, Wages; absent Alder
man Mintun.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the two previous meetings.were read and approved.
Motor Patrolman Wilson, having represented to the Council that he was unable to maintain
his Motor cycle,buy gas 0il and repairs and support his family on his salary,.and the
Council benig convinced that such was the case, Alderman Price moved that the Salary of
said Patrolman be increased to $125.00 per month, said increase to be effective from
February ¢st, 1926...Alderman Drake seconded the motion which eceived the following vote
ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Phillipe, Price, Wages, nays noses; absent and not voting
Alderman Mintun, and was declared passed by the Mayor.
MAYOR CALLED AWAY: At -.this -time Mayor Wil -son was called away, to make preparation for
his trip to Little Rock to attend the Convention of PvIayors to be held in said City on
January, 20th,1926.
On motion by Alderman Price, seconded by Ald erman Wages and passed by the vote of -

Members present, excepting Aldrman Phillips, Alderman Phillips was chosen President
pro tempore.
The President pro tempore then announced the purpose of the meeting to be the
informal consideration of the proposed Occupation Tax. The Council accordingly proceeded
to the diseussion of various features of the proposed measure, in an effort to arrive
at a just and equitable distribution of charges for the various callings of the citizens
It becoming evident that the consideration of the various items could not be finish
ed at one sitting, Alderman Price moved that the Council adjourn to meet on the 20th of
January,' at 7;30 PM. foie further consideration of the matter. This motion was duly
seconded and passed.

ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD JANUARY 20th, 1926.
Pursuant to adjournment, the City Council met at 7;30 P.M. of January 20th 1926
PRESENT; The Clerk; Aldermen Harding Drake, Phillipe Price, Wages; absent the
Mayor, and Alderman Mintun.
The meeting was called to order bJ the Clerk, and in the absence of the Mayor,
Alderman Phillips was nominated and elected to be President pro tempore.
The consideration of the proposed Occupation Tax was taken up and the list of
Items as submitted by the Finance Committee, was gone over, and the report of the
said Committee was announced ready for submission to the Council.
The members present, desiring that the matter should receive the full consideration
of all the Council and the Mayor, further consideration of the measure was deferred to
the next regular meeting.
On motion the Council adjourned.
