ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD NOVEMBER 23rd, 1925, 2;30 P.M.
Present;
The Mayor, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; absent, the Clerk.
The Council was called to order by the Mayor, and on motion duly made.and passed, Alderman
Harding was elected to be Clerk of the Meeting.
' The Mayor stated the purpose of the meeting to be the opening and consideration of the bids
for the proposed issue of City Bonds, refunding the outstanding indebtedness of the City of Fay-
etteville, at the time of the adoption of Amendment Number Eleven to the Constitution oftthe Stat
of Arkansas, received in response to.the following telegram sent to the "Southern Contractor". a
weekly trade journal published at Memphis, Tenn"aRlly#//MSX??�//
"Fayetteville, Ark. Nov. 16th, 1925.
' Southern Contractor,
Memphis, Tennessee,
Run the following advertisement in the next issue.
Bonds for sale. Fayetteville, Arkansas Funding bonds $73,000.00 5%, one to seventeen years.
Bids received at 200 P.M., Nov 23rd, 1925. Council reserves right to reject any and all bids.
Buyer to pay all expenses. Contract to be awarded on condition that transcript and bonds finally
approved. N.F.Drake Chairman Finance Committee,
Fayetteville, Arkansas Council."
The bids received were from R.W.Hall, representing J.B.Tigert & Co. of Memphis, Tenn. and from
Geo. B. Walton representing M.14 Elkins & Co, of Little Rock, Arkansas,
Alderman Price moved that the successful bidder be required to deposit a certified Check
' for $1,000.00,payment condmtioned upon the perBormance of the contract to be entered into.
Alderman Drake seconded the motion which received the f.ollowinf vote; ayes, Aldermen Drake,
Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, l'Pages, and was declared passd by the Ma'yor.
On motion duly made and passed the Council went into executive session.
The matter before the Council having been fully discussed, and an agreement having been
reached, Alderman Mintun moved that the Finance Committee be requested to present a formal
report'to the Council at the Regular meeting to be held at 7;30 P.M. of this day. This motion
was duly seconded and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council a d so declared by the Mayor.
The Council then adjourned to 700 P.M. of the 23rd of November, 1925. _

Present the MMyor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages,
The Minutes of the Meeting of November 16 1925 were read and approved.
The bills against the City listed below having been approved by the Auditing Commiittee, were
ordered paid and the Cler k was diredted to Tissue warrants for the same on motion made by
Alderman Harding,.seconded by Alderman Mintun, passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and
so declared by the Mayor.
Jim Mitchell, 6 days work -0$18.00 Andrew Munds _days work, $,24.00; John Zillah, Street laborer
x$115.00; W.A. Gregg, Specia 1 Police $7.00.
The Finance Committee made its report on the bids for the sale of the Funding Bonds , awarding
the contract for the purchase of the same.to N A Elkins & Co. of Little Rock, Arkansas. ;
Alderman Harding moved that the report ofi the Committee be accepted, and approved, and that the
Committee be discharged I/Adi/ as a special Committee, This motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips
