Bates, the City Engineer was directed to establish grades for sic walks on Vandeventer avenue and on Ila Street, and to.so locate same as to preserve shade t3 so far as was compatible with public convenience. This action was taken on motion by Aldr- man Drake, seconded by Aderman Jones and passed by the unanimous vote of the members prese Alderman Harding moved that Mr. Bynum be permitted to lower to a convenient position the pump located on North Leverett, subject to the approval of the City Engineer. This motion was/ seconded by Alde rman Scott and received the unanimous vote of the members present. Alderman Drake moved that the Mayor and the City Engineer be authorized to contract for the construction of a culvert or a surface drainage on the Prairie Grove Road at a point west of theoverhead crossing of the Frisco on said Road. Alderman Phillips seconded the motion which was passed unanimously. No further business the Council adjourned to Friday, October 15th, 7;30 PhM. Attest; Approved* c`J� Clerk Mayor. ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD OCTOBER 15th, 1926s (Present; The Clerk; Aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum/ Jones, Scott, Watson; Absent, the Mayor. I On motion duly made and passed, Alderman Harding was chosen to be Presiden i protempore of the Council, and accordingly presided at the meeting. (The time having arrived for the continuation of the hearing of the appeals from the assess- saring Iments in Street Improvement District Number Thirtytwo and id Annex Number One to Douglas str in Improvement District Number One of the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas, said appeals, as to i District (District Number Thirtytwo were read to the Council; the appellants being J.W. Webb on behalf 32 of Mrs H.D. Miser, Mrs. R.L.Potter and bars M.J. Goddard; and in their own behalf, C.S. Hick and ey, T.P.Hulsey and J.W. Ribinson. After some discussion, but without having arrived at any Price nnex to ,conclusion of the matter, Aldrman Hard#ag moved that the hearing be continued to the next Douglas, regular meeting. This motion was seconded by ,Alderman Watson and received the following vot ,ayes; aldermen Phillips, Price, Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, 411atson; nays none, and ,was declared passed by the President pros tempore. Whereupon Alderman Drake moved that in as much as the appellants in Annex Number two to Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas are the same parties as above mentioned, and the territory embraced in the said Annex is the same as that in the said District Number Thirtytwo, the hearing in said appeals be also continued to the next regular meeting. This motion was duly seconded by Alderman Jones and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Phillips, Price Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Watson; nays none; and was declared passed by the President pro tempore.
