REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD OCTOBER12th, 1925.
PRESENT: the mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages,
MI?LUTES of the previous meeting were read and approved.
PERORTS of Police Judge, and City Collector ,returned by the Auditing Committee, were ordered
received and filed.
BILLS: the bills listed below were allowed and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for
the same; John Zillah, $80.00, Frank Hauptman $5.00; Will Poor y^$12.60; Jess Walters $13.25.

REPORT of the Sewer Commission was read to the Council and on motion was approved and ordered
reddived and filed.
RESOLUTION: Alderman Harding introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption.
This
motion was seconded by Alderman Mintun and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake,
Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Prices, Wages; nays none; absent none and was declared passed by
the Mayor.
RESOLUTION:That the Sewer Commissioners be requested tofurnish the City Council(as
soon as possible)an estimate of the necessary extension & and repairs needed for the complete
sewer Plant. Also that they have •1 corrected assessment made of the original Sewer District -
1926 C.T.Harding.

TO THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. GENTLEMEN:
Your Board of Commissioners for Anex number
One to North College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Ark-
ansas, have employed E.-NI.Ratliff to prepare plans and make estimates of cost of a pavement
including grading and rolling and the necessary curbing for a steuvt from curb to curb of the
present street to be constructed on East Spring Street from the East line of North College
Avenue to the West line of Willow Avenue, all within Annex Number One to North College Avenue
Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteiille, Arkansas,
Based on a report of our engineer, we have decided to construct a pavement of Portland
Cement Concrete.
The estimate of cost of this work,based on the highest estimate of E.M.Ratliff, is
"7,200.00, and we respectfully request that your Honorable Body appoint a Board of A119�00X
Assessment who shall assess the benefits against the property within Annex Number One to
North College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Alderman harding introduced a Resolution approving the Report of the Commissioners and moved its
adoption. Alderman Mintun MOM/ seconded the motion which receibed the following vote; ayes
Aldermen Draek, Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none; absent none.and was declared
passed by the Mayor. A copy is as follows; -
RESOLUTION
"J APPROVAL OF PLANS.
WHEREAS at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Fayettetille, Arkansas, held on the 12th
day of October, 1925 „ there was presented to the said City Council by George Appleby, Bert Watson
and J.H.Phipps, as Board of Improvement of Annex Number One to North College Avenue'Improvement
District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, their report, together with the plans
of the work to be done in the contemplated improvement by said Improvement District and the said
report having been read in open meeting of said Council and said Plans having been exhibited to
said Council and each member thereof, and it appearing from said plans that the # X/ total cost

of construction of said improvement, exclusive of interest ch ges,=is the sum of 47,200.00, and
that said Council being satisfied that said plans are feasible tnd practicable and that the same �f
are correct,
THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'OF FAYETTEZILLE, ARKANSAS:
That said Plans Band said report be, and the same are, hereby approved and adopted, and that
said improvement be constrmcted according to said plans and at a cost not to exceed, exclusive
of interest charges, „7,200.00.

Ro 'jti L6I10 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYrTTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That H.C.Evins, ;7.E.Graham and J.R.Bates, three qualified electors of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, be and they are hereby appointed as the Board of Assessment of Annex Number One to
North College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;
and that all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be, and the same are,
hereby repealed, and this resolution shall take efeect and be in force from and after its pass-
age and approval.

' Whereas, by reason of the removal from the State by W. F. Ham and E.M.Allison, two former
members of the Board of Improvement of School Avenue Improvement District Number One of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, there is a vacancy in the membership of said Board;
WHEREAS, on the 21st day of September, 1925, the City Council of the City of Fyyetteville,
Arkansas, appoithed A.R.Kendrick and O.G.Warbrittan, by resolution duly adopted, to be
members of said Board;

HHEREAS?, the said A.R.Kendrick and O.G.Warbr&ttan failed to qualify within the limits of the
time set by law for them to do so; and
WHEREAS, both of said parties have signified their willingness to serve as such Commissioners;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TI RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That A.R.Kendrick and O.G.Warbrittan, two owners of real property within School Avenue Improvement
District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be and they are hereby appointed to be
members of the Board of Impeoiaement of School Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City
of Fayettevilleip Arkansas; and that all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed, and this resolution shall take effect and be in force from
its passage and approval.

On motion by Alderman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Harding the Chairman of the Fire Committe
was authorized to contract for the construction of a drying rack for the use of the Fire Depart-
ment in drying the fire hose.
On motion the City Clerk was directed to write to the Cit*&s of Little Rock, Ft. Smith,
Muscogee, Kansas City and St Louis, inquiring as to the kind and price of Fire Hose in use in
said Cities.
Alderman Harding introduced a resolution as to the deposits of the funds of the Water Plant
and moved its adoption. This motion was seconded by Alderman Mintun and received the following
vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, &Iimtum Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none; absent none and was
declared passed by the Mayor.

The Board of Managers of the Fayetteville Water Plant be instructed to advertise for bids
for the deposits'of the Water Plant And deposit same with highest and best bidder.
