PURSUANT TO ADJOURNMENT, and. in_ accordance with.. an.order_.duly made. at the..meeting to the City Council og the City
of Fayetteville, Arkansas, held.on the.31s.t day of.Amgnst, 1925 as the same is recorded at page 104;V�of this
Record, the City Council of said City met in the Mayoras Office on September 9th, 1925 at 7;30 P.M.;
PRESENT; the Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Harding Phillips, Price, Wages; absent Aldermen Mintun and Darke.
MINUTEE0 OF THE previous meeting were read and approved,
BUILDING PERMIT; The Red Cross Drug Store wqs granted a permit to remodel the front of their building, subject to
the approval of the City Inspector.
PAVING, ROCK AND CHURCH Streets; Prof. Dunn.presented to the Council the proposed paving project embracing one blocs
on Rock and one block on Church Streets, and urged the necessity of prompt action in laying Water and Sewer
mains in the district, in order that the paving.might proceed without delay. He was assured of the hearty
cooperation of the Council, and of assistance to the.extent of the grading and engineering work.
APPEALS of Miss -Amanda Stone, E.D.Davies, R.L.Combs, Mrs. A.H.Miller., and E.A.Budd against the assessments of their
property in South College Avenue Improvement Distfoict,were r ad to the Council.
On behalf of the Appellants the Council was addressed by Mr. A.B.Stone, Mr. E.D.Davies, Mr. Cowan and Mr,
Aumick. Attention was called to apparent inequalities; such as that vacant lots were assessed righer that
adjacent tats with buildings on.them; unimproved small lots assessed higher than larger lots with buildings;
The City Attorney spoke eor the Assessors, and -explained that in some cases there had been errors in
placing assessments to the wrong descriptions, and that such errors could be corrected by the Commidsioners
in preparing the book for the use of the Collector; -also in -the matter of the amount. of the Benefits assessed
he called attention to t e fact that this was intended to cover not.only the act ual expense of the construc-
tion of the improvement, but also the interset and the margin required in order to secure the approval of the
"Bonding at orneys".
CONTINUED; On motion by Ald rman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Price the hearing on the appeals of E.A.Budd,
E.D.Davies, Amanda M. Stone, Mrs. A.H.Mi ler and R.L.Combsswas continued to September 14th, 1925.
NOTICE ; The Clerk was d6rected to mail notices to each -of -the recently.elected Members of the Board of Managers
of/ the Water Platt of the.fact of their election.
