PRESENT: The Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen.Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; absent Alderman Drake. MINUTES: -,of the previous meeting were read and approved. REPORT of the Street Sweepers was received and filed and on.motion by Alderman..Price, seconded by Alderman Harding and passed by the unanimous vote of -the Ald men present..`.the Clerk was directed to issue warrants to the sweepers, Jim Mitchell $18.00; Andrew Munds $24.00. ' BILLS: the following.bills against.the City were returned.as correct by the Auditing.Committee, and on motion by Alderman herding, seconded by Alderman. Mintun._and..passed by the unanimous vote of the Aldermen present, were ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue.warrants for the same; John Zillah, $102.50; The Graf barton Signal Co. $80.27; ' Requests; Linebarger & Davis, to out paved Street; referred to City Engineer, with power to act; C.C.Yarrington at al, for grade to be established for laying water main; City Engineer instructed to establish said grade, North end of Olive Street; Walter M. Black, for grade for sidewalk on Ozark Avenue, Engineer instructed to establish same; Walter M. Black, Permit for building .on Ozark Avenue., granted subject to compilance with Code; E.L.Nettleship, exclusive right. -to Concessions during Fair Week, granted. that two members of the -Board of.assessors for West Lafayette Improvement District be appoithed, -granted. . that the annual maintainance allowanc.e...for. West Lafayette, $250.000 be issued, granted Hugh Lawson; permission to cut pavement on square to allow laying--of-6-inch water mainin Mountain Street, granted, subject torepairing.street paving. -bond for same and maintainance bond,all to be approved by the City Engineer and the Mayor. That Hugh Evins and Dr. J.F Stanford, two qualified.electors..o£_,the.City._of Fayetteville,,.Arkansas are hereby appointed as members of the. Board of Assessment of the- benefits to be received by each lot, nlook or parcel of real estate within West Lafayette Improvement District Number One -of -the. -Cit y of Fayetteville? Wilson, Mayor. 4 RESOLUTION SIJ l� WHEREAS; there was created within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, an.improvement.Distriet known as Water im- \ i provement District number One.of.the..City.of. Fayetteville, Arkansas; and WHEREAS; said Improvement district was created for the benefit of -.,..and at the expense,of.the holders of the rea property lying within the.limits.of said District; and WHEREAS; no authority.exists whereby the mains of the Water Plant established in and by said Water District can be extended beyond the limits.of said District; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY.TBE__CITY COUNCII;_OF.TBE.CITY_.OF FAYET.TEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE:That.there shall be no extensions of the water mains, -of -the Water Plant outside the limits of the Water Improvement District, Number_ One of the City. of. -Fayetteville, Arkansas, except into territory first which;shall.be casated into &.legally constituted Annex thereto .. SECTION.TWO:. That all resolutions in.conflict.herewith,are hereby.repealed,..and.this resmlution shall take effect and be.in.force from and after its passage and approval. . Philli s MOTION, by Alderman jlr� 8 that the Clerk be directed to issue to the -order of the Commissioners of West Lafayette Improvement District a warrant for $250.00 for maintainance, seconded by Alderman Harding and passed by the unanimous vote of the members present By Alderman Mintun, that the City Clerk be authorized to purchase a neer typewriter on the best terms obtainable, seconded by Alderman Harding, and passed by the uhanimous vote of the members present. ByAlderman Mintun that James Dinwiddie be elected to be Inspector of Buildings,.Plumbing, Wiring and sidewalks for the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Seconded by Aldemman Harding and passed by the fol - rowing vote; ayes Aldermen Harding,.Mintun, Phillips,.Price, Wages; nays none; absent and not voting Aldgrman Drake, and. so declared by the Mayor. By Alderman. Harding, that Aldermen Wagc.s, Phillips and Price continue as a special Committee to report 1 as to the duties,.fees.&c of the City.Inspector. Passed. Tha§ the City Attorney prepare an Ordinance providing for,the.management of.the City Water Plant, and report same at the.special meeting to be held Thursday, August, 27, 185.
