Alderman introduced an Ordinance providing for increasing the Board of Water Commissioners
from 3 to 5 members, which was read the first time,
Alderman Price -moved that the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its se Gond readk
ing. This motion was seconded by Alderman Wages and received the following vote;ayes Aldermen
Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none, absent and not voting Alderman Drake, and
was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read the second time. I -
Alderman Phillips moved that the Rules be further suspender, and the Ordinance placed on its
third reading and final passage, This motion was seconded by Alderman Wages and received the .fes
following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Mi ntun, Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none absent
and not voting Alderman Drake, and'was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was rea the
third time.
The mayor then called for the vote on the passage of the Ordinance which was -as follows; ayes
Aldermen Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman

SECTION ONE: ppp
Th eaf er, and until further action of the City Council of the City of .:ay
etteville, Arkansas at rnprovement District Number One of the City of Fayettevilee, Arkans
sas,shall be operate and maintained by a Board consisting of five qualified electors of the C
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,to-wit;C.VJ.Appleby,J.H.McIlroy, W.J.Lewis, J. Frank 1.1oore,and B
F. Campbell.
SECTION TWO;
%X�X Fath member of said board shall take the oath of office recuired by para-
graph twenty of Article nineteen of the Constitution of the ''tate of Arkansas,and that he will
not, directly or indirectly,be interested in any contract made by said Board,said oath to be
filed with the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
SECTION THREE:
Said Board shall meet within ten days from the passage of this Ordinance
and organize by electing one of their number os Chaidman,and one as Secretary. The Board
may also elect one of its members as treasurer and define his duties,if it sees fit to do so.
SETION FOUR:
Said Board shall have full power and authority to operate and miantain said Wa-
ter Plant to the smme extent that the City Council`of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
might do uhder the law,

That all Orders, Resolutions, Ordinances, or pa.•ts of the same in conflict
herewith be, and .the same are hereby, repealed,and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and anter its passage, approval and publication.

JULY 27th, 1925.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The report of the street sweepers, show ing an average of 21 blocks per day, was received
and ordered filed, and their accounts for the week ending July 25, was ordere paid, and the
Clerk directe to issue warrants foer the same.
The Bills agains t the City, listed below, were approved by the Auditing.Committee, and on
' motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Ivlintun,and carrPed by the unanimous vote of the
Council,were ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same.
Bills;
John Zillah, x$`'65.00; J.E.S}EXXII Skelton, $4.50 Magnolia Petroleum Co..�18.50;M.H.Diers $20.00.
On motion by Alderman Price, seconded by Aldermad Iatintun, the Clerk was dmrected to notify
the Telephitne Co. to install a phone in the home of the Traffic Policeman, C.P.'.'.ilson,to be
paid for b,, the City so long as said Wilson remains in the service as a member of the City Police
force.
Alderman Price moved that the I•rlayor be authorized to purchase 8 "Stop" and"Slow IT signs
for street intersections.Alderman seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes
Aldermen Drake, Mintun, Harding, Phillips, Irice, Wages, and was declared passed by the Mayor,
A building permit for an addition to the nigh School was granted, subject to the approval
of the City Engineer.

of Fayetteville, Arkansas,and the estimate cost of the same.
We have employec.as engineer for said proposed improvement E.M.Ratliff of Fayetteville,
q Arkansas, He has made the necessary surveys, and the plans and estimate as submitted, are

The total estimated cost of said improvement, exclusive of interest, and including
contingitneies,is the sum of $26,500.00,
We respectfully ask that your Honorable Body approve the plans and specifications for
said Improvement District, and that you appoint three qualified ele ctors of the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas,as the Board of Assessment, to assess the benefits against the
different Lots, Blocks and parcels of real estate within said District. ' '

WHEREAS ,
At a Meeting of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arka.nsas,held on the
27th dad of July, 1925, there was presented to. said Council by J.H.McIlroy, C.W.Appleby and
ti.J.Lewis,as the Board of Improvement of Annex Number One to Sewer Improvement District Numb
ber One of the City of Fayetteville,, Arkansas,their report together with the plans and
specifications of the work to be done in the construction of the improvement contemplated by
said Improvement District,and the said report having been read in open meeting of said
Council,and said plans and specifications having been exhibited to.said Council and to each
member thereof,with a full and complete explanation of all the details thereof,and it ap-
pearing, from said plans Lnd specifications that the estimated cost of the construction of
said improvement,exclusive of intere t _harges,is the sum of $26,500.00 and the said Council.

That U.L.Smelser, W.L.Crouch and Fred Raedels, three qualified electors of the City of Fay-
etteville, Arkansas are hereby appointed to constitute a Board of assessment of the benefits
to be received by each lot, block or other sbdivision of real property within Annex Number
One to Viewer Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,by
