On motion by __lderman 1-hillips, seconded by Alderman Harding and passed by the unanimous u - vote of the members present, the bills against the City were alowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the dame; Bills; gird Construction Co. 0500.00;W.•H.Rollins $1.00; southwest Bell `Pel. The Ordinance was read the second time. Alderman Phillips moved that the Rules be further suspender and the Ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. A number of citizens ,from Rose Hill were present, and upon invitation of the Mayor, addressed the Council,in a vigorous appeal for extension of Water ans serer facilities to that section o f the City,and for the improvement of the Streets therein. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The report of the street sweepers, show ing an average of 21 blocks per day, was received and ordered filed, and their accounts for the.week ending July 25, was orders paid, and the Clerk directs to issue warrants foer the same. The Bills agains t the City, listed below, were approved by the Auditing Committee, and on ' motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Idintun,and carrbed by the unanimous vote of the Council,vaere ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same. Bills; John Zillah, $65.00; J.E.SXXXXI Skelton, $4.50 Magnolia Petroleum Co..$18.50;M.H.Diers $20.00. On motion motion by Alderman Price, seconded by Alderman I:4intun, the Clerk was d1rected to notify the Telephmne Co. to install a phone in the home of the Traffic Policeman, C.P..ilson,to be paid for b„ the City so long as said Wilson remains in the service as a member of the City Police force. Alderman Price moven that the Mayor be authorized to purchase 8 "Stop" and°Slow signs for street intersections.Alderman seconded the motion ;ihich received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Mintun, Harding, Phillips, Trice, Wages, and was declared passed by the Mayor.
