Whereas, G.3.Ripley, J.��.Raed and O.L.17golf as the Board of Assessment of
Douglass Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkandas,did on the 15th day of June, 1925, deposit with the City
Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Assessment R611 of Douglas
Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, duly
subscribed by each of them;
Now, Therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of: the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas;
Section One;
' That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be,
and he is hereby required to cause to be published in the Fayetteville
Democrat, a daily newspaper published in the said City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas; a notice, stating that such Assessment Roll has been so filed,
and that the same is now subjedt to inspection.
Section Two;
Th.t all orders and resolutions in conflict herewith be, and
the s.me are hereby repealed, and this resolution shall take effect and
' be in force from and after its passage and approval.

Building permits were granted to Ik O.Davi Remodelling residence; M.A.Hale, same.
A petitio n was presented a,king the Council to takr action to rpotect the local grocers
from the activities of street pedlers of fruits. After some discussion the matter was referred to
a Committee composes of Aldermen Phillips, Ddintun and Price
On motion by Alderman Price seconded by Alderman Drake and passed by the unanimous vote of th
Council, the Clerk was directed to eal'1 to the attention of the City Attorney that the Council
had ordered the <,lley in Block No. 29,running westward from -College Avenue to the North and South
alley in said Block, opened; also that they had ordered South !'allow (or Lyon) Street opened
from Huntsville Road South to the City limits; and Suggest that proper legal steps be taken to
enforce such orders.

Present'and presiding, Alderman Harding president Pro tempore, the Clerk, Aldermen Drake,
Mintun, Phillips. Price, Wages; absent, the Mayor.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The accounts of the street sweepers, Jim Iviitc hell. 018.00 and Andrew Ivhmds, i} 24.00
were allowed and on motion duly put and carried the Clerk was directed t o issue warrants for t
the same.
The bills listed below were reported by the Auditing Committee as correct and Alderman
' Phillips moved that the Clerk be directed to issue warrants for the same; Alderman Drake second
ed the motion which received the following vote; f.yes Aldermen'Dtake; Harding, Tvintun, Phillips
Price, }`Mages; nays none, and was declared passed by the President protempore.

' On motion duly put and carried the City 31gineer was instructed to establish a grade for
gutter at Thompson's property on School and Mountain Streets.
On motion by Alderm n Phillips and seconded by --.ldermanMintun and duly passed the City
_ttorney was directed to investigate the matter of the Railway right-of-way"heretofore used
as public streets, within the City limits.
The c,,mmittee on Public Market Place reported progress, and were granted further time.

On motion by Alderm_:n IXXXXOX , seconded by Alderman ,JIXX and duly passed, the Chair-
man of the Street Committee was authorizesd to have the portion ofMission Avenue
recently resurf_ced, oiled at an expense not to exc•,ed 045.00.
Alderman Phillips moved that 030.00 be appropriated to pay part od the expense of oiling
East Spring Street. Alderman Price seconded the motion, which received the following vote;
ayes Aldermen Harding, Phillips, Price „WLIges; nays Aldermen Drake, Mintun, absent none,
and was declared passed by the President pro tempore.,

Avenue Improvement Dustrict which .,as rest the first time. Alderman Phillips moved that
the Rules be sus ended ani the Ordi nance'placed on its second. reading; This motion was
seconded. b� AldermanDraw �gd received the following vote; ayes Aldermen (rake, Ha -ding,
nlintun, Phillips, Pricy/; �izos none; absent and not voting none, and was'deolared passed
by the President pro tempore. The -Ordinance -was dead the second time.

"HEREAS, the majority in value of the property holders owning property adjoining
the locality to be affected, and situated in North Leverett Avenue Improvement District
Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, organized for the purpose of improving
by grading, rolling and paving with concrete pavement, the streets and parts of streets
within said North Leverett Ave,.ue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayet-
teville, Arkansas, for the construction of said improvement, and that the costs thereof '
shall be assessed upon the real property of said District, according to the benefits to
be received; and
7HREAS9 said benefit received by each block, lot and parcel of real property sit-
uated in said District, equals or e:cceeds the local assessment; and

the same now remains in the Office of the Recorder or amity Clerk; and that 100 on said b
blocks, lots and parcels shall be paid annually on or before the first I.Ionday of Nov-
ember, until the whole of ,he s_.id local as essment shall be paid.
SECTION T',;0: That all Ordinances•and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be,
and the same ure hereby,repealed, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force f ,
from and after its passage, approval and publicAtion.

Alderman Phil=ips ...oved that the Clerk be directed to notify the 'dater Commissioners
that the City Council requests them to take prompt action to supply the citizensin the
Northeast portion of the City with an adequate water supply,reference being had espec-
ially of Gunter Addition. Alderman Price seconded the motion which received the follow -i
ing vote; ayes Aldermen Drake,Harding, I:Iintun,Phillips, Price, Gage
nays none; absent and not voting none, and :;as declared pa.=sed by the President pro
tempore.

Alderman Price introduced an Ordinance providing for the permanent improving of the
intersections of certain streets, which was read the first tiir.e. Alderman Price moved t
that the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion
was seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following votes; ayes Aldermen Drake
harding.lAintun, Phillips., Price, wages; nays none; absent and not voting none, and was
declared passed by the President pro.tempore. The Ordinance was read the second time.
Alderman wages moved that he Rules be further suspended and the Ordinance placed on its
third r.eading"ondr:final passage. This motion was seconded by Alderman Price and received
the following votes; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, ilintun, Phillips, Price,Y7ages; nays
none; absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the president pro tempore.

OF THE INTERSECTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN TME CITY OF FAYET`TEVILLE', ARKANSAS, AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES."
WHEREAS, there has been formed and created within the corporate limits of the city

of Fayet6eville, Arkansas, a certain Improvement District known as !'lest ldou*tain Street
Improvement District Number One of the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas;
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the city of Fayetteville to aid in constructing. and
maintaining permanent streets, constructed under the improvement district plan; and
WHEREAS, the city of Fayetteville has assumed part of the expense of improving street
in other districts;
NOW THEREFORE? BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUITCIL OF THE CITY OF FAY�TTsVILLE
ARK?JTSAS :
SECTION ONE; That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund (Board

of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the sum of Two Thousand Dollars, to be used by t of
Commissioners o£ ':Jest Mountain Street Improvement District Number One of the
Fayetteville, Arkansas, in permanently paving.the intersections of all streetrs-r thin said
Improvement District, and otherwise permanently the same.
SEOTIOU T:'iO:That the City Clerk of the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be, and he=is
hereby, authorized and instructed to draw five warrants of equal amounts, in favor of whom
soever said Board of Commissioners may designate, and at such times as saidBBoard may
request, not to exceed in the aggregate, however, the sum of Two Thousand Dollars. Said
five warrants shall be drawn serially, so that one warrant shall become due and'payable _
each year after date of issue.
SECTION TIEREE: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage, approval and publication.
