Alderman Harding moved that the Chairman of the Street Committee be authorized to put the pl

Board of Assessment,and that the same is now subject to inspection.

On motion by Aderman Harding, seconded by Aldc•rm_n Mintun and carried by the unanimous vote
of the Council, the Chairman of the Street Committe,3 was authorized to contract with A?M?Byrnes
for the removal of the sheds along the Ea6t side of the City wagon Yard, at a price not to excee

On motion by Alderman Price,seconded by Alderman Harding and carried by the unanimous vote
of the Coumcil the City Attorney was directed to oppose before the Circuit Court, the Petition
for the formation of a Fourth '.lard as the same is being proposed by Mr. W.I.hitty.
On motion by Alderman Mintun seconded by Alderman Price and carried by the unanimous vote of
fhe Council Aldermnn Harding was e¢/// elected to be Acting Mayor during the absence of/ly/ Mayo
Mayor VJilsom, effective June 13th, 1925.
No further business appearing the Council adjourned to June 15th, 1925.

and o m motion were ordered filed.
A communication from the Commiosioners and the Assessors of Douglas Street Improvement Dis-
trict Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was read , in which they requested permi
sion to withdraw their Assessment Roll and substitute therefor a new A%sessment Roll. On motion
by Alderman Phillips seconded by Ald rman Mintun X11 that the request be granted ,the following
vote was had; ajres Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none ab•ent and

Whereas, G.i?.Ripley, J.F.Raed and O.L.Iolf as the Board of Assessment of
Douglass Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkandas,did on the 15th day of June, 1925, deposit with the City
Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Assessment Roll of Douglas
Street Improvement District Number One of the Obty of Fayetteville, duly
subscribed by each of them;
Now, Therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of. the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas;
Section one;
' That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be,
and he is hereby required to cause to be published in the Fayetteville
Democrat, a daily newspaper published in the said City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, a notice, stating that such Assessment Roll has been so filed,

Building permits were granted to I O.DaviA. Remodelling residence; M.A.Hale, same.
A petitio n was presented a -king the Council to takr action to rpotect the local grocers
from the activities of street'pedlers of fruits. After some discussion the matter was referred to
a Committee composes of Aldermen Phillips, P;Iintun and Price
On motion by Alderman Price seconded by Alderman Drake and passed by the unanimous vote of th
Council, the Clerk was directed to call to the attention of the City Attorney that the Council
had ordered the <,Iley in Block No. 29,running westward from College Avenue to the North and South
alley in said Block, opened; also that they had ordered South Willow (or Lyon) Street opened
from Huntsville Road South to the City limits; and Suggest that proper legal steps be taken to
enforce such orders.

' On motion duly put and carried the City 3bgineer was instructed to establish a grade for
gutter at Thompson's property on School and Mountain Streets.
On motion by Alderm n Phillips and seconded by <.ldermanMintun and duly passed the City
attorney was directed to investigate the matter of the Railway " right-of-way"heretofore used
as public streets, within the City limits.
The c3mmittee on Public Market Place reported progress, and were granted further time.

man of the Street Committee was authorizefd to have the portion ofmission Avenue
recently resurf_ced, oiled at an expense not to exe ed 045.00.
Alderman Phillips moved that $30.00 be appropriated to pay part od the expense of oiling
