The Mayor then announced the question to be shall the Ordinance pass,and called for the vote

BE IT ORD_.INED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;
' SECTIOI4 ONE.
That the Mayor and City clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,be, and they are
hereby authorized to issue three(3) warrants,payable to the odder of the Trustees of the City Hos—
pital of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, each 8n the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars,
due July 15th,1926, July 15th,, 1927 and July 15th,1928,respectively, and payable only out of the
City Hospital Fund and from no other Fund of the City of Fayetteville.

The warrants herein authorized shall be used by the Trustees of.the City Hospital for
the construction of an electric Elevator,the necessity for which is urgent and vital for the safe-
ty of the patients of the Hospital.

That this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its.passage, approv—
al and publication,and all Ordinaaces or parts thereof in conflict herewith,be and the same are
hereby repealed.

Alderman Price moved that the report of the Committee charged with the duty of presenting a
plan for changing the arrangement of the sidewalk at the corner oil C11lege and Center,which report
prescnted a plan for rebuilding a portion of the tvalk,providing for drive-in entrances and the
better protection of pedestrians fron vehicle traffic, be received, the Committee discharged,and
the City ..ngineer directed to carry out the suyfested plan. `:'his motion was seconded by alderman
Harding and recjivod the unanimous vote of thevihmbers present,and was declared passed by the ;.;ay

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved,.
The accounts of the Street Sweepers, Jim Mitchell $18.00 and Andrew Idunds, $24.00 for the
week ending May 23rd, were presented and on motion by Alderman Mintun, seconded b,, Alderman
Ptice and passed by the unanimous vote of'the members presett were ordered paid and the clerk
was directed to issue warrants for th e same.
The bills of the Rogers Wholesale Grocer Co.s715.68; the Fayetteville,Lumber and Cement Co,
'15.75; and Mayor Wilson for expenses to St Louis,a/c new depot, and of Alderman Price,same
9106.32, were reported as correct by the Auditing Committee and on motion by Alderman Harding,
seconded by Alderman iiiintun,and passed by the unanimous vote of the Members present were ordered
paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same.
The following applications for'building permits were approved and the permits granted subject
to the approval of the City Engineer; -
Ozark Planing Mill, Addition to Ozark Filling Station;
G.R.Broyles, residence on "all Street;
Mrs. Annie McGraw, Residence, St. Charles and La£ayett;

On motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Orice and duly passed the Fire Depart-
ment was authorized to contract with the Brunk Shows fora Benefit ,:xhibition.
The Committee in charge of the matter of providing for the control of the drainage WO/
on Davidson Street reported a plan for the same which was approved by the Council and Alder-
man 1,Iintun moves that the Chairman of the Street Committee in conjunction with the City Rngineer
be authorized to cogtract for the construction of the necessary culvert,according to the plans
submitted. This motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips and raceived the following vote; ayes.
Aldermen Harding, Uintun, Phillips, Price, Wages; nays none; absent and ntt voting Alderman Drake
and was declared passe., by hhe Mayor.
Thesame Committee reported progress on the Dinwiddie drainage trouble and on request were gra
granted more time.
The -Committee also repoted on the matter of the - grade of the sidewalk on University street at
the properties of Viebb and Deatheridge, that theyrecommended the grade to be retained as fixed by
the City Engineer. This report was approved by the Council.
Alderman Price moved , That in as much as it necessary for the convenience and comfort of the
citizens residing in that section of the City that sidewalks be re -constructed along the Last sid
of Arkansas Avenue between l='est t:aple Street and Reagan Streets;-
Therefore it is Ordered by the City Council of the City of Fayeyteville, Arkansas, that the o
owners of property abutting on said Arkansas Avenue from M:ple Street to Reagan Street be and the
are hereby required to construct or repair ,as may be deemed necessary by the City "hgineer, side
walks in front of their respective properties,and that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directe
to issue the necessary legal orders therefor. This motion wqs seconded by Alderman Harding and r
received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding Plintun, Phillips, Price, .,ages; nays none; abs
sent and not voting Alderman Drake, and was declared passe by the Mayor.
Alderman Price moved,That whereas it is necessary for the convenience and comfort of the Citi
zens residing in that Cection of the City that sidewalks be re -constructed along the North side
of Maple Street from the West side of Arkansas Avenue to the alley west of Whitham Street;
Therefore it is hereby ordered by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkan.�as that
said sidewalks be so re -constructed under the direction of the City ::ngineer ,and that the City C
clerk be and -he is hereby directed to issue the necessary Orders to the owners of property abut-
ting on said Maple Street and within said limits. This motion was seconded by Ald.�rman Mintun and
received the following vote; ay -s Aldermen Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price, 'ilages; nays none;
absent and not voting Alderman Drake, and was declared passedb the M.yor.
