On motion by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Mintun and unanimously carried the Street Committee was directed to confer with the interested parties ,and report a plan for providing an entrance to the property of Mr Br&W,-on "Frisco Street". On motion by Alderman Drake seconded by Alderman Price and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present the City Engineer was directed to lower the sidewalk on Hill Avenue adjoining the section of walk to be installed by the St. Louis & San Fransisco Ry. Co., so as to provide a suitable and safe grade from the said section of new walk to the walk now in use. On motion by Alderman Price seconded by Alderman Phillips and carried by the unanimous vot¢_ of the members present it was ordered that the firm of Frambers and Swafford be employed to make an audit of the Books of the City. The City engin er reported that he finds nothing of record to show that the Streets in Har- rison's Addition to the City of Fayetteville were ever accepted by the City. that Fletcher Av- enue, Bryan Avenue and Walnut Street are open and have been partially improved by the City; d2 - that Carroll Avenue and Yeater Avenue are not open and do not appear ever to have been open. On motion by Alderman Harding seconded by Alderman Phillips and unanimously carried the re.• port was ordered received and filed. Attest; Clerk. Approved; mayor. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD Aptil 6th,1925. Present, the Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price; absent Aldermen Drake and Fackson. The minutes of the two previous meetings were re`d and approved. The following reports of City officers were presented and on motion were referred to the Auditing Committee; - Chief of the Fire Department; Police Judge; City Collector; City Clerk; The w ekly report of the Street Fommissioner was read and on motion was ordered filed. Alderman Phillips moved that the Payroll of the street laborers be allowed and the Clerk ' directed td issue warrants for the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Mintun and re- ceived the following vote; ayes Aldermen Hard ing, Mintun, Phillips, Price; nays none;absent and not voting Aldermen Drake, and Jackson, and as declared passed by the Mayor, Payroll; Charles'Wilcox, $18.00; Doc Taylor, $13.75; D.C.Condra, $14.00; Jim Mitchell, $10.50 The following bills ag_inst the City were presented and on motion were referred to the Auditing Committee; - Bills; Bead's, $4.95; Hansard, $7.10; Electric Service Co., 32.55; John Carlisle, $2.00; S.H.Guinn $59.00; S -W. Mayor and City Council / Fayetteville, Arkansas, 1 We, the undersigned, citizens and owners of real estate abutting: on University Street in the City of.Fuyetteville, respectfully petition Your Honorable Body to establish sidewwlk grades and order construction of sidewalks along the East side of Uni. versity Street running from }i Dickson Street to the North line of Appleby Borthers Canni Factory property. Respectfully submitted, Mrs. Bruce Holcomb Southwest Power Co. L. Erma Deatherage, Alderman Harding moved that the petition be granted and the Clerk instructed to issue Not ice to the owners of property as indicated in the petitioii,and in accordance with law. Alderm" man Phillips seconded the motion which received the follo ing vote; ayes Aldermen Ha rding, Mintun, Phillips, Price;, nays none; absent and not voti,;g Aldermen Drake and Jackson, and was declared passed by the Mayor. Alderman Phillips moved that the Report of the Fire Chief be turned over to the Chairman of the Fire Committee with instructions to present the same to the Water Commissioners and ascertain what relief could be obtainedfrom the handicap imposed on the Fire Department b-ta because of the defective Fire hydrants. This motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and recre ceived the following vote; ayes Alderman Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price;nays none; absent s- and not voting Aldermen Drake, and Jackson and was declared passed by the Mayor. Alderman Mintun moved that the City Engineer be directed to have the step in the sidewalk on the North side of Center Streetcut out and the walk relaid for a distance of ::bout 20 flet on a suitable and safe grade.Alderman Phillips seconded this motion which received the fol- lowing vote; .yes Aldermen Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Drake and Jackson and was declared passed by the Mayor. On motion duly :put and carried the City Engineer was directed to prepare an amendment to Ordinance No. 547, pertaining to the construction of sidewalks. Alderman Harding moved that the lease of a dump ground for the distosal of Tin Cans and similar rubbiah,fr��arggoung be renewed for the year 1925 and that the City Clerk be direct"" ed to issue a war to sam young in payment therefor, `Phis motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips and receiveAhe following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Mintun, Phillips, Price; nayq none; absent nd not voting Atdermen Drake and Jackson and was dedlared passed by the mayor. The Assessment List for West Mountain Street Improvement Didtrict Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was filed with the City Clerk and the following Resolution was introduced by Alderm n Mintun,who moved its adoption. Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Harding, Mint -an, Phillips, Price; nays no_ e• absent and not voting Aldermen Drake and jackson,and was declared passed by the Maycr. jr� c , L� RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, W.E.Graham, A.C.Uckera andB.F.Campbell ,as the Board of Assessment of Test Mounta k#N Street Improvement District Number One of th City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,did on the 6th day of April, 1925, deposit with the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Assessment Roll of West Mountain Street Improvement District Number One of.the City of Fayett- eville, Arkansas,duly subscribed by each of them; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RASOLVED BY THE CITY COUTCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: SECTiDON ONE: That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be and he id hereby, required to cause to be published in the Fayetteville Democrat,a daily newspaper published in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,a notice, stating that said assessment has been so filed +7 by said Board of Assessment,and that the same is now subject to inspection.
