Feb. 23rd,1925.
Present; the Mayor, Clerk, Alderman Harding. There being no quorum, the Mayor declared the
meeting adjourned to March 2nd,1925.

MARCH 2nd, 1925.
Present; the Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Herding, Mintun, Phillips; absent Aldermen Jackson
and Price.
Thh minutes of the meeting of Feb 16th,1925 were re..d and approved.
The reports of the Police Judge and the City Collector for Febru ry were presentes and on
motion were referred to the Auditing Committee.
The report of the Street Commissioner for the two weeks ending Feb. 28th 1925 were presented and
on motion were ordered filed.
Alderman Phillips moved that the payroll of the Street laborers as set forth in the report o
of the Stre t Commissioner be allowed and the Clerk directed to issue warrants for the same.. This
motion was sedonded by Alderman Harding and received the followinf vote; ayes Aldermen Drake,
Harding, Mintun, Phillips;i;ays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and was
declared passed by the Mayor:

Alderman Harding moved that the bills against the City as listed below and approved by the
Auditing Committee be allowed and the -Clerk directed to issue warrants for the same. This motion
was seconded by Aderman Dr ke and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, harding,
Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent'=,d not voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and was declared
passed by the M yor.

AlderTan Mintun moved that the expenses of the Mayor in attending the meeting of the
Arkansas R.R. Commission on the appeal for a 24 hour telegraph service for Fayetteville be
paid to the amount of $35.00 and the Clerk dmrected to iesie a warrant for the same. This
motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Alderman Drake,
Harding, Mi. -.stun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and
was declared passed by the Mayors
On motion duly put and carried a building permit was granted to O.O.Lollar for the erec-
tion of a resedence on East Spring Street,
The Mayor reported that the resignation of Lee Seamster as City Attorney was filed with
him on the ::.3rd day of February. Alderman Mintun moved that the resignation of Mr. Seamster
be accepted, effective Feb. 23, 1925. This motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips and received
the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Hardimg, Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not
voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and was declared passed by the Mayor.
The resignation of Mrs. Grace B. McIntosh was presented,(_s City Collector) and on motion by
Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Mintun,was duly passed and so declared by the Mayor.
The report of the Arkansas R.R.Commission as to the telegraphic service for Fayetteville, wit
the Order of the Commission was presented.and read, and on motion was ordered filed.
Alderman Phillips seconded by Alderman Harding moved that the Chairman of the Fire Committee
be authorized to negotiate a sale of the Studibaker Fire Truck at a price not less than $400.00.
This motion received the unanimous vote of the members present, and was declared passed by the Ma
yor.
The Mayor appointed Alderman Harding and the City Engineer as a special committee to confe
with the Rotary Club abd the Chamber of Commerce for the transfer of the electric cable on XX
Dickson and Block Streets to the South West Power Co., on motion duly put and carried.
On motion by Alderman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Drake and carried by the unanimous
vote of the members presant the Mayor was authorized tohave the Council Chamber repaired, and to
install some necessary furniture.
Alderman Phillips introduced the following res6lution nd moved its adoption. This motion was
seconded by Alderman Mintun and received the following vote; ayes Ald rmen Drake, Harding,
Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen JaYe,ks

That B.F.Campbell, =:.0 Ucker and W.E.Graham three qualidied electors of the City o
of Fayetteville, Arkansas, X� are hereby appoimted to constitute a. Board of Assessment of the
benefits to be received by each lot, or block, or other subdivision of land within West Mountain
Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;

Alderman Harding introduced an Ordinance which was read the first time. Aldermman Harding
moved that the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second re ding. Thia motion
was seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Alderman Drake, Harding,

RDINANCE NUMBER 547. An Ordinance to regulate the construction and operation of Gasoline and
rAyO hXillD19ASULtt gs,1jthe0cuttiLAg ofgSideQg4lks for entrance to Filling StttYons,, within the City,
limits o£'the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for other pgrposes.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLG,ARKANBAS;
SECTION ONE:
That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm or corporation to
�4d4� construcytor install a gasoline or oil station for the purpose of dsitributing.gasoline, oils, w
water or Aar to the public,individuals or vehicles'of the public or individual upon the Streets
or Alleys of the City of FLCyetteville, Arkansas.
��SE ION TWO:
That it shall be unlawful for' any person, firm or corporation to supply gasoline,
cyil, air or waterto any person,g/ persons, or to vehicles belonging to any person•or persons,
,R (firm or corporation,through hose or any other appliance which shall extend across the sidewalks

E ION THREE:
That no person shall be permitted to cut through,remove or molest a City sid ewalk
in the •ty"of Fayetteville, Arkansas,for the purpose of making a drive or entrance to a Filling
Statiom.e�!eept upon the following conditions;
[a) That a pe4t be granted by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, :A.rkansas,in accord
ante with plans submitted to the, Council' convened.
(b) That the grad\eof the drives when constructed shall slope toward the center of the street
and the slope ,shall n be greater than one (1) inch in three ;3) feet.

FCTION _OUR:
• That ny violation of Section One o£'this ,Ordinance shall be punishable by a fine o
f not less than 410.00 or more than $15.00 and that each day that Section One of this Ordinanc
is violated'shall constitute a separate offense.
XSECTIO11 FIVE:
J That any violation of Sections Two _nd Three of this Ordinance shall be punishable
by a fine of not less than $lo.00 or more than °$'15.00.
