There being no quorum, the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned to March 2nd,1925. �N v ttest; Approved; Mayor. REGULAR MiETIENG OF TH.; CITY COUNCIL, A MARCH 2nd, 1925. ' Present; the Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, H•rding, Mintlm, Phillips; absent Aldermen Jackson and Price. Thh minutes of the meeting of Feb 16th,1925 were read and approved. The reports of the Police Judge and the City Collector for Febru ry were presentee and on motion were referred to the Auditing Committee. The report of the Street Commissioner for the two weeks ending Feb. 28th 1925 were presented and on motion were ordered filed. Alderman Phillips moved that the payroll of the Street laborers as set forth in the report o of the Stre t Commissioner be allowed and the Clerk directed to issue warrants for the same.. This motion was sedonded by Alderm:n Harding and received the followinf vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips;Vays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and was declared passed by the Mayor: PAYROLL: Pres Hannah $45.00; Jack Bliner $38.50; Sartan $33.00; Charles Wilcox $28.50; Doc T ylor $21. Cal Hall X11.25; ''dgar Williams $8.75; D.C.Condra $25.00; Jim Mitchell $18.80; Aderman Harding moved that the bills against the City as listed below and approved by the Auditing Committee be allowed and the -Clerk directed to issue warrants for the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Dr ke and received the.following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, herding, Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent' and not voting Alderman Jackson and -Price, and was declared passed by the IrI yor. ' BILLS: _.K.Hooper 080.00 Fayetteville Lumber an d Cement Co. $8.65; Adams Flower Shop $6.00 South West Power Co. 348.11;J.C.Massie $1.00; J.'-I.Shelley $9.25; Democrat Pub Co. $1.00; Simpson-Mintun Co. $40.06;Lewis Bros, Co. $47.16; Pierce Petrolium Co. $12.00; Alderipan Mintun moved that the expenses of the Mayor in attending the meeting of the Arkansas R.R. Commission on the appeal for a 24 hour telegraph service for Fayetteville be paid to the amount of $35.00 and the Clerk dmrected to iesie a warrant for the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Alderman Drake, Harding, Ili.:stun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and was declared passed by the Idayor, On motion duly put and carried a building permit was granted to O.O.Lollar for the erec- tion of a resedence on East Spring Street. The Mayor reported that the resignation of Lee Seamster as City Attorney was filed with him on the '3rd day of February. Alderman Mintun moved that the resignation of Mr. Seamster be accepted, effeative Feb. 23, 1925. This motion was seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Hardimg, Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jackson and Price, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The resignation of Mrs. Grace B. McIntosh was presented,(_s City Collector) and on motion by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Mintun,was duly passed and so declared by the Mayor. The report of the Arkansas R.R.Commission as to the telegraphic service for Fayetteville, wit the Order of the Commission was presented.and read, and'on motion was ordered filed. Alderman Phillips seconded by Alderman Harding moved that the Chairman of the Fire Committee be authorized to negotiate a sale of the Studibaker Fire Truck at a price not less than $400.00. This motion received the unanimous vote of the members present, and was declared passed by the Me yor. The Mayor appointed Alderman Harding and the City Engineer as a special committee to confe with the Rotary Club abd the Chamber of Commerce for the transfer of the electric cable on XX ' Dickson and Block Streets to the South West Power Co., on motion duly put and carried. On motion by Alderman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Drake and carried by the unanimous vote of the members pres::nt the Mayor was authorized tohave the Council Chamber repaired, and to install some necessary furniture. Alderman Phillips introduced the following restlution nd moved its adoption. This motion was seconded by Alderman Mintun and received the folloaring vote; ayes Ald rmen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Ja+ kson and Price, and was declared passed by the Mayor. K9�' Iv_IBE ITRESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: That B.F.Campbell, A.0 Ucker and W.E.Graham three qualidied electors of the City o of Fayetteville, Arkansas, 0 are hereby appointed to constitute a Board of Assessment of the benefits to be received by each lot, or block, or other subdivision of land within west Mountain Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas; J.M.Phillips.
