The reports of the Polic judge and the City Collector were r erred to the Auditing Committe
The report of the Fire Chief was ordered received and filed.
The report of the Street Commissioner for the week ending January 3rd, 1925 was received and
filed.
Alderman Harding moved that the payroll of the Street laborers together with the bill of -the
Express Company and the bill of the City Engineer be allowed and the Clerk directed to issue
warrants for'the same. This motion was"seconded by Alderman Drake, and received the following
vote; ayes Alderman Drake, Harding, Jackson, Blintun, Phillips Price; nays,none; and was declared
passed by the Paesident pro tem.

Alderman Hackson moved that the City Engineer be insttucted to furnish a gr -,de for sidewalks
on one block of Storer Street, North of Douglas. Alderman Drake seconded this motion which
received the following vote; ayes Alde-rpen Drake, Har ing, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips, Price,axid
was declared passed by the President pro tem.
Alderman Mintun moved that"the bills which have been approved by the Auditing CImmittee be
allowed and the Clerk directed to issue warrants for the same; this motin was seconded by Alder-
man Harding and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jakkson, Mintun,
Phillips, Price, and was declared passed bar the President pro tem. The following is a list of the

RESOLUTION.
'VTIEREAS, a.petition, claiming to represent a majority in valub of the owners of real property
on West Mountain Street from the :;est line of South Block Avenue to the East line of South School
Avenue, was -dull, filed with the City Council of the"City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,on the 8th day
of December,1924,asking that said property be created into an Improvement'Distrtct,to be known a
as West Mountain Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;
WHERES,said Fity Council of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, did., on the 8th day of Decem
ber, 1924,order and direct the City Clerk of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to give notice
by publication, for two weeks, in some newspaper having a general circulation in the said City
of Fayetteville, Arkansas, that such petition had been ftled,and that it would be considered at a
meeting of the City Councilof'said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to be held at the
Mayor's Office on the 29th day of December,1924,at 7;30 p.m. and that all property owners of said
Improvement Distriotmight appear on said date,and that said City Council would,on said date,hear
said petition,and determine whether those signing the same constitute a majority in value of the
owners of such property;

That, after careful consideration,the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas,finds that gy�J'X there is a total assessed valuation of $62,535.00 of real property
within said District,according to the last assessment on file in the office of the County Clerk
of Washington County Arkansap; and that persons signing saidpetitionown real property within
said District of the assessed valuation of x43,760.00,according to said assessment.
SECTION TWO:
That it is the finding of said City Council of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansa
that the majority #in assessed valuation of omners of real property within West Mountain Street
Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,have signed said petition,
and the said District is hereby formed by said City council of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansa
SECTION THREE:
In consideration of said above mentioned petitionthe said City Council of said
City og Fayetteville, Arkansas,has been guided by the certificate of the Circuit Clerk off said
County,as to the ownership of said real property-, and by the certificate of the
County Clerk of said County as to the assessed valuation of said real property.
SECTION FOUR:
That all res1lutions or parts of resiblutions in conflict herewith be, and the
same are hereby, repealed,and this resolution shall be in force and effect from its
passage and approval.

Alderman Harding introduced an Ordinance levying the assessment in West Spring Street Improve^
ment District which was read the first time. Alderman rice moved that the Rules be suspended and
the Ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Aldrman Jackson and receiv
ed the following vote; aye Ald rmen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips, Price; nays none;
absent and not voting, none, and was declared passed by the President pro'tem. The Ordinance was
reed the second time. Alderman Price then moved that the Rules.be further suspended and the
Ordinance placed -on its third reading and final passage. This motinn was seconded bjt Alderman Har ,

Fayetteville, Arkansas, has become vacant be reason of the death of Judge W.F.Stirman,and the
unexpired term of said Office is less than six months, W.H.-Rollins be appointed to fill -the
said unexpired term:=This motion was seconded by AldermanJackson and received the following
vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Minton, Phillips and Price; nayo nuue; absent
and not voting, none and was declared passed by the President pro tem
Alderman Harding moved that -Mr.. Alpha Goss be employed to assist the Superintendent of the
Light Plant to discover and correct the fault in the Light cable on the North side of Dickson
Street. This motion was seconded by Alderman -Jackson and received the following vote; ayes
Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Phillips, Price and was declared passed by the President pro
tem.
