said Board of tissessment,and that the same is now subject to inspection.

On motion the City Collector w.�.s directed to procure suitable blanks, books,und other necessary
supplies for the enforcement of the Occupation Tax Ordinance. a
On motion duly put and carried the Fire Committee was instructed to investigate the need of
additional Vi e apparatus, and employ an expert to iest the w ter supply for fighting fires.
The finance Committee made an exhaustive report of the financial condition of the City,showinl.
that with the anticipated increase of revenue from the Occupation Tax, the City is in a sound 00
condition,fina cially.
Aldcrm.n Price moved that the s_.lary of the P.1otor-Cycle Patrolman be increased to •;3110.0.0
per month, ith the understanding that he is to furnieh his ovn machine, and the up -keep thereof.

REGULAR MsETING OF THE CITY CIUNCIL HELD
NOVEMBER 24,1924.
Present;

The report of'the Street Commissioner was received and ordered filed.
Alderman Jackson moved that the payroll of the Street laborers for the week ending Nov.
22,1924 together with the bills against the City reported as correct by the AuditiAg Committee
be paid and the Clerk instructed to issue warrants for the same. This motion was seconded by
Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Jackson, Mintun, Phillips and
Price; nays none;.absent and not voting Aldermen Drake and Harding, and was declared passed by
the Mayor.
The payroll is as follows; Chatles Wiloox, $18.00; Doc Taylor, $15.00; John Zillah,
015.00; D.C.Condra, $24.00; T.N.Webster, $22.50

reports
of the
Police Judge and the
City
Collector for
the month of October,1924 were
reported
approved
by the
Auditing Committee
and on
motion were
ordered filed.
AldermenOn motion by Alderman Jackson seconded by Alderman Phillips and carried by the unanimous
vote of the members present a light was ordered installed at the intersection of Mock and La�
Drake and Harding entered at thisttime,
Alderman Phillips moved that the matter of the 8ote of the Commissioners of Willow Avenue
to the City be investigated by the City Attorney,and that said Officer be instructed to make
such collection on the same as was possible. This motion was seconded by Alderman Jackson and
carried by the unanimous vote of the Council.

Engineer was
directed to
establish
sidewalk grades
on Maple Street, North
side
from West
Street
to Frisco;
and on South
side from
West to Arkansas.
The City Clerk was directed to prepare a statement of the amount due.the City from the Water
Plant for Office rent to date, and hand same to the City Attorney for collection.
The Council adjourned to Dec. 1st, 1924.

Present; the Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Jackson, Harding, Mintun, Phillips; absent Alder-
man Price.
The minutes of the two previous meetings were read add approved.
The Report of the City Collector for the month of November was referred to the Auditing Com,
The Report of the Street Commissioner for the week ending Nov. 29th,1924 was received and W
filed.
The time for the hearing of the appeals from -the Assessments in West Spring Street Improve-
ment District Number One having arrived, Alderman Harding moved that said hearing be continued to
Friday December 5th,1924. This motion was secohded by Alderman Jackson, and received the follow-
ing vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not vot-
ing Alderman Price,and was declared passed by the Mayor.
Alderman Harding Moved that the Clerk be directed to issue warr nts for the payment of the
street laborers,and the bill of W.A.Gregg for expenses of the K.P.parade. This motion was second-
ed by Alderman Mintun, and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson,
Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Price and was declared passed by the
mayor.
Payroll; Gharles W81cox, $15.00; Doc Taylor, $7.50; Henry Barton $2.00; Cap Harper $4.50;
D.C.Condra $24.00;
Bill of W.A.Gregg for three horses and one extra policeman 0 50.
The bills of the Abshier-Bryan Motor Cc for $27.20, and W.L.Crouch, $5.50 were referred to
the Auditing Committee.
On motion by Alderman Phillips seconded by Alderman Harding and carried by the following vote;
ayes Aldermen Drake, Hardmng, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips; nays none.; absent and not voting Ald-
erman Price ans so declared by the Mayor, Mr. W.H.Rollins, a Justice of the Peace in and for
Washington County Arkansas was appointed to serve as Police Judge during theabsense and inca-
pacity of Judge W.F.Stirman.
Alderman Jackson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. This motion was
seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding,
Jackson, Mintun, Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Price, and was declared pass
ed by the Mayor;
RESOLUTION.
WHFMAS;The City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, did at the proper time pass a
resolution levying corporation taxes for 1924; for General purposes 5 mills, for Hospital, 1 mill
for Fire 12 mills; and
WHEREAS; a mistake was made in certifying the Fire levy at 2 mills;
b NOW,THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Fayettbville, Arkansas;
SECTION ONB:That a City or Corporation Tax for General Purposes be levied for the sum of
5 mills; Hospital 1 mill; Fire 1� mills for the yelir 1924.
Section Two;That the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to certify to the County Collect
for of Washington County, Arkansas, a copy of this resolution to the end that said Tax may be
properly extended and collected.
SECTION THREE;That all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be,and the
same are hereby repealed, and this resolution shall be in force and effect from and after its
passage and approval.
