Phe minuted of the previous meeting were read and approved. The report of the Street Commissioner rias re=d and on motion duly carried was ordered filed. On motion by Alderman I.Iintun seconded by Alderman Harding and carried by the following vote;ayes Aldermen Draken Harding, Jackson_, Mimtun Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting 'lde_man Price and so declared by the I:Iayor,the _cayroll of the street laborers was allo:'ed and the Clerk zias directed to issue warrants for the same as follows;- Eort "agner ;,30.00; Charles 'Iilcox , 18.00; Doc Taylor..,15.00; '.dgar ''illiams x;17..25; D.C.Condra :24.00. Included in the same motion were the following bills against the City; J.0.I3assie for stamps 1.00; '.''.F.Stirman for stamps x;1.00 ;':;.y.Gregg for 14 extra Policemen and two horses on'dio duty during the Klan Parade ,j16.00; Dan allen for inspecting the painting of the names of the streets of the City $5000, The following bills against; the City -mere referred to the Auditing Committee;- 1 Waite Phillips Co. x 11.55; Ivey & Boyd ? 2.20; C.O.Hansard 5).)..50; I.Iagnolia Petrolium Co. j13.00. . On motion by Alderman Harding seconded by Aldermen Jackson and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present, the request of ':'.S.Pollard for sidewalk grade on one block of ?ast Lafay- ett Street was granted and the City _'ngineer was instructed to establish the grade. A petition signed by a number of citizens o•.:ning property in the locality to be af£ected,pro- testing against the location of a serer line in the western part of the City in a manner that �e.An� e:ould not benefit the majority of the property owners therein,and requesting that stens be taken to secure the location of said seer line under the advice of the City Engineer as to the most suitable and beneficial route for the line to follow was presented and read to the Council. After discussion of the matter Alderman Harding moved that the '"iter and Sewer Commissioners be -' requested to confer with the Petitioners and the City Engineer,and endeavor to arrive at a fd,ir and satisfactory decision as to the location of the proposed sewer line. This motion aaas seconded by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Alderman Drake, Harding, Jackson I.Iintun, Phillins; nays none; absent and not voting i.lderman Price, and was declared passed by the mayor. the Board of Improvement of Douglas Street Improvement District Dumber one of the City of Fatetteville, .-rkansas p esented their Report which was read to the Council. Based on the report of our Engimeer,Twe have decided to construct a ::4 ft; pavement which sha1f be asrhaltic concrete on a 6 -inch b1cAdam base or 6 -inch plain concrete. Harding and PI.H.Rachs as Board of improvement of Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the City,of Fayetteville, Arkansas,their report, together with the plans of the work to be done in the construction of the contemplated improvement by said Improvement Districtand the said report having been read in open meeting of said Council and said plans having been exhibited to s said Council and to each member thereof,and it appearing from said plans that the total cost of construction of said improvement,exclusive of interest charges,is the sum of �7,500.00,and said Council being satisfied that the plans are feasible and practicable and that the.same are correct NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI:'Y OF FAYET'T VILLE..=;d4SAS, That "aid plans and said report be, and the same are hereby approved and adopted,and that said Improve ment be constructed according to said plans and at a cost not to exceed,exclusive of interest charges,r7,500.00.
