Phe minuted of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The report of the Street Commissioner rias re=d and on motion duly carried was ordered
filed.
On motion by Alderman I.Iintun seconded by Alderman Harding and carried by the following
vote;ayes Aldermen Draken Harding, Jackson_, Mimtun Phillips; nays none; absent and not voting
'lde_man Price and so declared by the I:Iayor,the _cayroll of the street laborers was allo:'ed and
the Clerk zias directed to issue warrants for the same as follows;-

duty during the Klan Parade ,j16.00; Dan allen for inspecting the painting of the names of the
streets of the City $5000,
The following bills against; the City -mere referred to the Auditing Committee;-
1 Waite Phillips Co. x 11.55; Ivey & Boyd ? 2.20; C.O.Hansard 5).)..50; I.Iagnolia Petrolium Co. j13.00. . On motion by Alderman Harding seconded by Aldermen Jackson and carried by the unanimous vote
of the members present, the request of ':'.S.Pollard for sidewalk grade on one block of ?ast Lafay-
ett Street was granted and the City _'ngineer was instructed to establish the grade.
A petition signed by a number of citizens o•.:ning property in the locality to be af£ected,pro-
testing against the location of a serer line in the western part of the City in a manner that �e.An�
e:ould not benefit the majority of the property owners therein,and requesting that stens be taken
to secure the location of said seer line under the advice of the City Engineer as to the most
suitable and beneficial route for the line to follow was presented and read to the Council.
After discussion of the matter Alderman Harding moved that the '"iter and Sewer Commissioners be -'
requested to confer with the Petitioners and the City Engineer,and endeavor to arrive at a fd,ir
and satisfactory decision as to the location of the proposed sewer line. This motion aaas seconded
by Alderman Phillips and received the following vote; ayes Alderman Drake, Harding, Jackson

the Board of Improvement of Douglas Street Improvement District Dumber one of the City of
Fatetteville, .-rkansas p esented their Report which was read to the Council. Alderman Harding
moved that the report be received, filed and spread of record. -This motion was seconded by Alder-
man -Drake and received the follo•:;ing vote; ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, 1.Iintun, Phillip
nays none; absent and n t voting Alderman Price, and was declared passed.by the Jdayor.The report

Your.Board of Commissioners for Douglas Street Improvement District Number One have

1I.I.Ratliff to prepare plans and make estimates of cost of :,4 ft. pavement,including
curbing,to be constructed r,-irhin Douglas Street Improvement District One on Douglas Street from
the "est 1.ine'of Leverett Street to the West line of Storer Street and Storer S'reet from the
Northlline of `.lest Maple Street to the South line of Douglas Stre:t.
Based on the report of our Engimeer,Twe have decided to construct a ::4 ft; pavement which sha1f
be asrhaltic concrete on a 6 -inch b1cAdam base or 6 -inch plain concrete.
Estimated cost of this work as submitted by E.Li.Ratliff is 07500.00,and we respectfully re-
quest that your Honar ble Body appoint a Board of Assessment -.-.,ho shall assess the benefits
against the •property within Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayette
Ville, Arkansas.

Harding and PI.H.Rachs as Board of improvement of Douglas Street Improvement District Number One
of the City,of Fayetteville, Arkansas,their report, together with the plans of the work to be
done in the construction of the contemplated improvement by said Improvement Districtand the said
report having been read in open meeting of said Council and said plans having been exhibited to s
said Council and to each member thereof,and it appearing from said plans that the total cost of
construction of said improvement,exclusive of interest charges,is the sum of �7,500.00,and said
Council being satisfied that the plans are feasible and practicable and that the.same are correct
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI:'Y OF FAYET'T VILLE..=;d4SAS, That
"aid plans and said report be, and the same are hereby approved and adopted,and that said Improve
ment be constructed according to said plans and at a cost not to exceed,exclusive of interest

Fayetteville, arkansas,a certain Improvement District known as Annex Number One to 17est Lafay-
ett Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,;
"'H.REAS,it is the policy of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas to aid in constructing and
maint.,ining pOrmanent streets constructed under the improvement district plan,and;
7;H:.RE.LS9 the City of Fayetteville has assumed part of the -expense of improving streets in
other improvement districts.

District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, in permanently paving the intersec-
tions of all streets r,ithin said Improvement District,and othery.ise permanently improving the
same.
SECTIOII T':;0; That the Idayor and the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, are
directed to issue warrants drawn on the general funj of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
payable to bearer as follows;
One .,arrant for the sum of Eight Hundred and Fifty Dollars (;?'850.00)payable October 1, 1925.
One :-arrant for the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars (9900.00),payable October 1, 1926. One '.arrant for
the sum of might Hundred and Fifty Dollars (,850.00), payable October 1, 1927. One warrant. for Q
the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars (N900.00), payable October 1, 1928, and one warrant for the sum of
Eight Hundred and Fifty Dollars (,iS 50.00),payable October 1, 1929.
To be delivered on the order of the Board of Improvement of said improvement district.
In case of default in payment of any annual installment of the contract at maturity,or of
any of the warrants herein ddirected to be drawn,then, in that event, such defaulted installamnt
shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent(8o) per annumfrom.maturity until paidas a pen-
alty for failure to nay said installment when due.
