The reports of the Police Judge and the City Collector were presented and on motion of Alder man Harding,seconded by Alderman Drake and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present were referred to the Auditing Committee. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the report adopted. A petition asking for lights at certain alleys was referred to the Chairman of the Light Committee. On motion by Alderman Drake seconded by Alderman Phillips and carried by the unanimous vote of th members predent building permits liere granted as follows- P.R.Green, bungalow; Geo. F.Puterbaugh, Filling Station. A request for traffic warning signs at the crossings of Ida Avenue and Arkansas Avenue; and at heverett Avenue and Maple Street -as granted and the Mayor.was authorized to instal the same. The Council then went into executive session to consider the appeals from the assessments in '::est Meadow Street Improvement District Number One. The following action was had thereon; - Appeal of A.L.Trent;,_ssessment '482.00.Alderman Price moved that in as much as the Council, fter investigation finds the assessment of A.L.Trent fair and equitable,the request for a reduc- tion is denied. Alderman Ttintun seconded this motion which received the following vote- ayes Alderman Drake, Harding, Idintun Phillips, Price; nays none;. ahsent and not voting Alderman Jac. -so ' and was declared massed by the Mayor. Appeal of 'Theo. F.Jones; Assessments Q401.00 and '803.00,total,?1204.00; Aldermen Harding moved that in as much as the Council, after investigation finds the assessments of Theo. Lewis after investigation, us found to be fair and equitable, the request for a reduction is denied. On motion by Alderman Phillips, seconded by Alderman Mintun and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present the Mayor was authorized to employ a motor -cycle patrolman for one mmnth at a salary of $90.00.
