SECTION FIVE'; This contract shall be binding upon the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, from and after the passage approval and publication of this Ordinance and the acceptance of the same by the said 11oreno-Burkham Construction Company, a corporatio4,in writing filed in th•(- Office of the City Clerkof Fayetteville, Arkansas,and compliance with its terms by said Moreno@Burkham Construction Company,a corporation, on its part, of The City of. On motion by Alderman Mintun seconded by Alderman harding and carried by the unanimoue vot�- of the emebers present t.ermits for building residences were granted to P.M.Files; Harrison HalA, and I,iorgan Pride;and to G.A.London to build a swimming Pool on South Clillow. ADJOURII::D M.IETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL,Ri1D AUGUST 15th,1924. Present the Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Harding, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips; Absent Aldermen Dila Drake and Price. .The minutes of three previous meetings were readiand approved. Requests for a light and for street repairs on East S.pring Street were presented. ` The purpose of the meeting was stated by the Mayor to be the continuation,of the hearing of appeals from West Meadow Im)-rovement District, Geo. A Hurst, atorney for the District addressed the Council,and after some discussion of the affairs of the District.Alderman Mintun moved that the hearing be continued to August 25th 1924,which was seconded by Alderman Jackson and received the following vote Ayes Aldermen Hard ing, Jackson, blintun, Phillips, Nays none, Absent and not voting, Aldermen Drake and Price,and was declared passed by the Mayor, In response to the complaint of Mrs Boyd as to drainage the Council took the position that no responsibility rested on the City in reference to the matter. On motion by Alderman Phillips seconded b Alderman Harding and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present the City Engineer was instructed to make an estimate of the actual cost of paving the intersedtions in West Meadow Street Improvement District, On motion the Clerk was directed to publish a notice of the filing of a corrected descrip;�- tion of the lands in School Street Improvement District Number One. Alderman Harding introduced an Ordinance which was read the first time, whereupon Alderman Phillips moved that the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion was secohded b1 Alderman Jackson and received the following vote; Ayes Aldermen Harding, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips; Nays none; Absent and not voting Aldermen Drake and Price. The mayor declared the motion passed,and the Ordinance was read the second time. On motion by Alderman Jackson seconded by Alderman Harding and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present the City Engineer was instructed to make an estimate of the actual cost of paving the intersections in crest Lafayette Improvement District Number 6ne. Dr. Dinwiddie was prese and made a proposition to the Council as to drainage on West Maply,, On motion/yi/XI'd//Opy/the Street Committee was instructed to investigate and take such Action as they saw proper. On motion Dyke Brothers were granted permission to erect a temporary building to house the building material for their business house,�aid building to be taken down within 6 months from the time of its erection. Permission was granted to Mr French to cut the pavement on Lafayette for the purpose of ttp tapping the water main,subject to the usual oupervision of the City Engineer.
