This motion was seconded by Alderman Niintun, and received the following vote; Ayes Aldermen Drake
Harding, Jackson, Idintun, Phillips, Price; Nays none, Absent and not voting none and declared pmms
passed by the Mayor.
On motion by Alderman Price seconded by Alderman Drake, and carried by the unanimous vote of
the Council the Mayor was instructed t3kk to confer with the Water Commissioners relative to a
supply of water for the bathing pool atathe City Park.
Alderman 161intun introduced a resolutions and moved its adopti motion was seconded by
Alderman Pride and received the following vote; Ayes Aldermen Drake , ac son, 11intun, Phillips,
Price;nays none, absent and not voting none. A copy follows; -

RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS,on the 9th day of June,1924, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
by a Resolution duly passed, appointed J.F.T;inchester, W.L.Crouch and Vi.E.Graham as a Board of
Assessment for West Spring Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas;
':fIEREAS,the said W.L.Crouch has refused to qualify as a member of said Board; and
WHEREAS, the said J.F.'3inchester and VI.E.Graham have signified their willingness to serve on
said Board;
NOW.THERrFORE,Br IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS;
SECTION ONE: That J.F.Ilinchester, W. .Graham and H.A . Bridenthal,three qualified electors of
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,are hereby appointed to constitute a Board of Assessment of the
benefits to be received by each Lot, Block, or other subdivision of land within !:'est Scaring Street
Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Ark ansas.
SECTION TVlO;That all Resolutions and parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith be, and tha ca,
same are hereby, repealed,and this Res olution shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage and approval.

Alderman Price,seconded by Alderman Drake, moved "That in as much as there has been a very
material increase in the value of the property in West Lafayette Improvement District Number One
of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, since the original assessment therein,it is the opinion of
the City Council that the Property in said Improvement District should be reassessed,and that the
Commissioners of said District be,and they are hereby requested to make arrangements to have said
reassessment made before the time for the ne xt collection of dues; and that the Clerk be directed
to furnish the said.Commissioners with a cop y of this motion." This motion received the followin�
vote; Ayes Aldermen,Drake, Harding, Jac'son, Mintun Phillips, Price.
On motion duly put and carried,the Mayor was autorized $nand requested to investigate the
matter of securing some STOP signs,of various designs.
On Motion by Alderman Idintun,seconded by Alderman Harding and duly carried,a building perrs-
mit was granted,subject to the approval of the City Engineer,to Lester Lollar.
On motion duly put and carried the Coincil adjourned to July 16th,1924, at 7;30 thereo .

ADJOURNED bLiETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
"QLD JULY 16th,1924.
Pursuant to adjournment,the Council met in the Office of the Mayor,at 7;30 p.m. of July 16th
i924,those present being the Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Idintun, Phillips and Price; absent,
the Mayor,and Alderman Jackson.
On motion by Alderman Price, seconded b, Alderman Mintun and carried by the unanimous vote \
of the members present, Alderman Phillips was chosen as Chairman pro tem.
The Chairman pro tem announced that the purpose of the meeting was to continue the hearing
of the appeals from the assessment in West Meadow Street Improvement District Number One of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, according to the tenor of the motion shown at page 923 Of this
record.
The views of a number of citizens from the District,and of Attorney Hurst were presented to
the Council.Llessrs Reynolds and Lewis, representing the School Board also addressed the Council.
Idintun
Following the discussion, AldermenxXKxk1iqr moved that thehearing of the appeals from hest
Meadow Street Improvement District Number One be continued to August 15thl 1924. Alderman
Harding seconded this motion, which received the following vote; Ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding,
Mintun, Phillips and Price; Nays,none; Absent and not voting, Alderman Jackson. The Chairman
declared the motion passed.
On motio:a by Alderman Harding seconded by Alderman Itiintun and carried by the unanimous vote
of the members present, the Superintendent of the Water Plant was authorized to cut the pavement
on Ralston Street in order to put in a man -hole for the sewer line,the street to.be repaired
under the direction of the City Engineer.
No further busines^ appearing the Council adjourned.
