' REGULAR i;IEETING OF THE' CITY COUNCIO H'LD JULY 14th,1924. Present; The Mayor, Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Mintun, Phillips, Price. Absent none. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read at approved. ' The monthly reports of the Police Judge and of the City Collector were reported as correct by the Auditing Committee and on motion b Alderman Harding, seconded b;. -Alderman Phillips and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council were ordered filed. The weekly report of the Street Commissi ner was ordered received and filed and on motion by Alderman 14iintun seconded by Alderman Harding and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the street laborers as follows; - Charles ^.ilcox, $16.50; Ellis Sutton, X7.50; Mr. Webb, 53.75; :.dgar Williams, QT 0600; Jim Gray, 52.50;Ed Malone, $16.50; T.N.U9ebster, 512.00 The Auditing Committee reported the following bills against the City as correct,and Alderman Phillips moved that they be allowed and the Clerk directed to draw warrants for the same,this motion was seconded by Alderman Jac kson and received the following vote -J Ayes Aldermen Drake; Harding, Jackson, I.Iintun, Phillips, Price; nays none absent andn ntt voting, none,and so decle d by the IJayoras passed. Co. 350.30 - Alderman Price introduced an Ordinance which was read'the first time;whereupon Alderman ' Phillips moved that the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this motion w.s seconded by Alderman Price and received the following vote; Ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Mimtun, Phillips, Price; nays none absent and not voting, none and wgs declared passed ky the Mayor. AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO PREVENT INJURY OR ANNOYANCE FROM ANYTHING DANGEROUS, OFFENSIVE,OR UNHEALTHY WITHIN -THE LIMITS OF CERTAIN DISTRICTS OR ZONES IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILL ARKANSAS,AND FOR OTHER-„URPOSES.” BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKAVSAS . SECTION FOUR: That any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be puny- ishedby fine of not exceeding $100.00, and each day that any of the terms of said ordinance are violated shall be a separate offense under this ordinance. On motion by Alderman Price seconded by Alderman Drake, and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council the Mayor was instructed k1k to confer with the hater Commissioners relative to a supply of water for the bathing pool at4the City Park. Approved, Allan EI, Wilson, Isiayor Alderman Price,seconded by Alderman Drake, moved "That in as much as there has been a very material increase in the value of the property in I'iest Lafayette Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, since the original assessment therein,it is the opinion of the City Council that the Property in said Improvement District should be reassessed,and that the Commissioners of said District be,and they are hereby requested to make arrangements to have said reassessment made before the time for the ne xt collection of dues; and that the Clerk be directwL to furnish the said.Commissioners with a cop y of this motion." Attest, ���q,4.� Approved, Clerk. ,,��n O(J`�"" Mayor ADJOURNED M r.TING OF THE CITY COUNCIL Hr:LD JULY 16th.1924, Pursuant to adjournment,the Council met in the Office of the Idayor,at 7;30 p.m. of July 16th i924,those present being the Clerk, Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips and Price; absent, the Mayor,and Alderman Jackson. On motion by Alderman Price, seconded b, Alderman 11intun and carried by the unanimous vote \ of the members present, Alderman Phillips was chosen as Chairman pro tem. The Chairman pro tem announced that the purpose of the meeting was to continue the hearing of the appeals from the assessment in )'lest Meadow Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, according to the tenor of the motion shown at page 923 Of this record. ' The views of a number of citizens from the District,and of Attorney Hurst were presented to the Council.i.iessrs Reynolds and Lewis, representing the School Board also addressed the Council. Mintun Following the discussion, Aldermenxffzx iq moved that thehearing of the appeals from ":est Meadow Street Improvement District Number One be continued to August 15thl 1924. Alderman Harding seconded this motion, which received the following vote; Ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Mintun, Phillips and Price; Nays,none; Absent and not voting, :Aderman Jackson. The Chairman declared the motion passed. ' On motio{L by Alderman Harding seconded by Alderman Iiintun and carried by the unanimous vote of the members present, the Superintendent of the 'later Plant was authorized to cut the pavement on Ralston Street in order to put in a man -hole for the sewer line,the street to,be repaired under the direction of the City Engineer. ) No further businesti appearing the Council adjourned.
