The Street Commissioners Report for the week ending April 26,1924 was ordered received and filed
The Report of the City ngineer in regard to the opdning of South Willow Street was present
ed and on motion wa:• referred to the City Attorney,writh instructions to ascertain and report -the
steps necessary to secure the opening of the Street.
A Petition praying for an order for Sidewalks on the South side of a portion of East Spring
Street was refferred to the City :ngineer-with instructions to repott at the next meeting of the
Council.
The Second Petition for the ',:all Street Improvement District was presented of the Council
whereupon Alderman Harding moved that the Petition be received, filed and spread of record,which
resulted in the following vote, Ayes Aldermen Drake, Harding, Jackson, Mintunm Phillips and
-Price. The mayor declared the motion carried. The following iss(a copy of the Petition; -

ry described said Petition, :.as presented to your Honorable Body on the 21st day of April, 1924,
praying that your Body take all necessary steps for the creation of an Improvement District,
embraced in the territory described in said Petition, for the purpose of improving by grading,
rolling and paving with Asphaltic or Concrete Pavement,mthe following Streets and parts ofstreet
as may be more fully determined hereaftern by the Board of Improvement of said District, to -wit
Wall Street from the 'Nest line of Government Avenue to the East line of South Duncan Avenue
That your Honorable Body passed an Ordinance numbered 510, laying off the territory describe
in said Petition, and therein set forth, which Ordinance was duly passed on the 21st of April,
1924.
That said Ordinance was duly published in the Fayetteville Democrat within twenty days
after its passage,under the hand of the Clerk of the said City.

Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,that a Petition Ras
presented to said City Council,April 30th. 19944,requesting that the contemplated improvement
be undertaken,and that the cost thereof be chargedand assessed against the real propertywith

claim for attorney's fees against Annex Number One to West Lafayette Improvement District

Alderman Price introduced the following Ordinance, which was read to the Coun oil
Whereupon Alderman Price,seconded by alderman Harding I,ioved that the Rules be suspended and
the Ordinance placed on its second Reading, which motion was carried by the unanimous vote o
of the ouncil.
Aldermam Phillips then I.ioved that the Rules�be further suspended and the Ordinance
placed on it third Reading and final passage, which motion was seconded b Alderman Harding
and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council.
The Mayor then called for the vote on the passage of the Ordinance which was as follows;

The report of the Board of Public Affairs on the purchase of a "treet Sweeper,was received
and on motion was ordered filed and spread of record;-
City Council, Gentlemen; Fayetteville, Ark. Nay 5th.1924.
Respectfully submit to your Honorable Body that the undersigned on
this dateawarded a contract to the Bryan-_bshire Company for a street sweeper for the total sum
of N967.50,divided as follows;Sweeper attachment.', 0305.00, Fordson Tractor with four solid
rubber tires, 0662.50, F.0 B. Fayetteville.
The sprinkler attachment was not included in the bid.
The contract was awarded subject to the approvaland acceptance by the City Council -of the
street sweepok,
