WHERIUS, on the 3d day of March,I924 there was duly filed with the City Council of the City 'of
Fayetteville,Arkansas, a Petition,purporting to contain the signatures of a majority in value of
the owners of real property situated in Hill Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City
of Fayetteville,Arkansas:

SECTIDON ONE: That a hearing of said Petition,to determine whether those persons who have sign-
ed said Petition constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property•situated in said
Improvement Distriet,will be held by said City Council at the Mayor's Office in said City of Fay-
etteville,Arkansas,on the 24th day of March.1924,at 7:30 P.M.of said day. .
SECTION TWO: That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas.be.and he is hereby,ine
structed and directed to cause to be published a notice,in accordance with Section One, Act I259
Acts of Arkansas,I9I3,advising all owners of real property within Hill Avenue Improvement District
Number One of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,that a Petition was presented to the said City
Council on March 3d.1024,requesting that the contemplated improvement be undertaken,and that the
cost thereof be charged and assessed against the real property within said District,and that on
the 24th day of March,I924,the said City Council.will determine whether or not said Petition is
signed by such majority in assessed valuation.

N.F.Drake appeared before the Council in reference to widening Maple Street between
Lincoln and Park Street, On motion made by Ald. Harding,seconded by A1d.Jackson and carried by
the unanimous vote of the Council,the City Engineer was instructed to establish the sidewalk
line on Maple Street between•Lincoln and Park Streets as requested by pr. Drake and as shown on
Plat submitted by Dr. Drake.
The City Clerk submitted a statement showing the balance in Bank
to the credit of each account of the City Funds.
No further business appearing the Council adjourned at 8:35 P.M.

WHEREAS, at a meetingo£ the 6ity Council of the City. of Fayetteville,Arkansas,held on
the I2th day of November,I923,a Petition signed by ten owners of real property within the District
hereinafter described in Section One of this Ordinance,was presented to said Council,asking that
it take steps toward the making of an improvement,consisting og grading,rolling and paving with
Asphaltic Pavement the following Streets and parts of Streets,as may be more fully determined by
the Board of Improvememt of said District,to-wit:
South College. Avenue from the North line of East
Center Street to the North line of East Rock Street;East Rock Street from the East line of South
College Avenue to the Center lines of South East Avenue and West Rock Street from the Center lin e
of South East Avenue to the West line of South Block Avenue; East Mountain Street from the West
line of South College Avenue to the East line of South East Avenue; South East Avenue from the
North line of Rock Street to the South line of Mountain Street;and South Block Avenue from the
North line of West Rock Street to the South line of West Mountain Street;
WHEREAS, in said Petition it was further prayed that the Council lay off a stipulated
portion of real estate into an Improvement District,for making said improvements:

The City Engineer appeared before the Council in reference to the assessment of benefits
do the property of the St.Louis San Francisco Railway Company's property in various Improvement
Districts of the City.
The City Attorney appeared before the Council in reference to some decisions of the Police
Judge;the Mayor informed the City Attorney that this matter was between himself and the Police
Judge and the Council had no concern therewith. •
There being no further business before the Council,adjournment at 8:30 p.m.
