made by Ald. Price,seconded by Ald Haarding and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council,the

A communication from P.R.Green in reference to establishing the grade in front of his prop&
erty on Church Street,was read to the Council,and on motion made by Ald. Harding,seconded by
Ald. Phillips,and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council,the City Engineer was directed
to establish the grades as requested by h1r Green.
Mr. H.M.Powers submitted an application to the Council for permission to build an addition to
Bakery on North side of Square,and on motion made by A1d.Harding,seconded by Ald. Stephens and
passed by the unanimous vote of the Council,this permission was granted subject to the inspect
ion and approval of the City Engineer.
Mr t7.M.Hudson submitted an application to the Council for permission to operate a a taxi -cab,
and on motion made by Ald. Idintun,seconded by Ald. Stephens and carried by the unanimous vote
' of the Council,the City Collector was directed to issue license to It4r Hudson.
A communication from Lir. E.K.Hooper in reference to placing dirt from Dickson Street into the
dill between Duncan Avenue and Buchannan Street,and on motion made by Ald. Price,seconded by
Ald. Phillips and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council,permission was granted Mr.Hoop-
er to place dirt as requested,after the grade had been given him by the 6ity Engineer.

WHEREAS, the property owners on West Dickson Street from the AsAtth line of Duncan Street
to the East Line of Garland Avenue have filed with the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas a Petition purporting to represent a majority in value of the property owners in the
territory described and.set forth in said Petition,and said Petition being for the purpose of
forming an Improvement District to be known as Annex Number One to University Improvement Dis-
trict Number One of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,and;K
WHEREAS, The County Quorum Court of Washington County,Arkansas at the October term of said
Court,I923,passed a Resolution appropriating a sum not to exceed 30.000.00 for the purpose
of paying one-half the cost of the paving in the University ImproMement District Number One of
the City of Fayettevillee,Arkansas,and;
WHEREAS, The property owners on Dickson Street,other than those embraced in University Imp-
rovement District Number One have formed AnnexNumber One to University Improiaement District
Number One,and;
WHEREAS, it becomes necessary at this time ,in order that the said Annex Number One of t
University Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville,Arkahsas,may proceed,
for the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,to make some provision for the paving of the North side
of said West Dickson street ,which is adjacent to the GroAnds of the University of Arkansas,and
there being no.arrangements at this time by which said St eet can be improved ;

We, the Board

of Fayetteville,Arkansas,herewith submit this,our second report,to your Honorable Body,and here
with submit new plans of the proposed pavement in the above named District together with the es-
timate.of the cost of the same.'
';Je beg leave to report that heretofore we filed with your Honorable Body a report together
with plans and the estimate of cost,in which we stated that the estimated cost of construction,
exclusive of interest,and inclusive of contingencies,was Q� 24,000.50;that on the 9th day of
July,I923,by a resolution•,the City -Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,adopted said
plans and said report.
Vie/ further state that since said date,the Commissioners have decided to
change their plans and to lessen the cost of said improvement,and that we have had our engin-
