The Street Commissioner submitted his Report for the week ending November I7th.,and on mot-

The Board of Assessors of Willow Avenue Imp.Dist.No.I. submitted to the Council the Reassess-
ment of bene£its•on real property in said District for the year I923; on motion made by Ald. Price,
seconded.by A1d.Mintun and carried by the following vote; Ayes, Aldermen Price,Harding,Jackson,
Phillips,Stephens,Mintun, Nayes; None ,and so declared by the Mayor,the Clerk was directad to file
said Report and to insert the proper notigication of such re -assessment in the Daily Democrat.
Mr. R. M. Angus submitted to the Council a communication in reference to stagnant water on
Walnut Street; on motion made by Ald. Price,seconded by Ald. Harding and carried by the unanimous
vote of the Council this matter was referred to the City Engineer for a report at next meeting of
the Council.
A communication from the City Collector was submitted to the Council in,reference to failure
of certain parties to pay City Licenses,and on motion made by Ald. Price,seconded by Ald. Harding,
and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council,this communication was referred.to%the Chief of -
.Police .
The following applications to errect building were submitted to the Council,and on motion
inade by Ald. Harding,seconded by Ald. Price,and carried by the unanimous vote of the Council these
applications were granted subject to the inspection and approval of the City Engineer.

'F.HREAS, the old fire bell owned by the City of Fayetteville is no' now in use as the sig-
nals are being given by the siren at the Electrie Light Plant,and
WHEREAS,the College of Engineering of the University of Arkansas in a letter from Dean W
N, Gladson dated November IOth,has asked that the City loan this bell to them for the purpose of
giving signals for the moving of classes,at the University,and have offered to dismount and deliver
the bell back to the City at any time in the future that it might be required back,within 24,hours
fro receipt of notice,
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas that
this bell be loaned.to the College of Engineering of the University of Arkansas as above request-
ed,with the understanding that the City is to be put.to no expense either in moving it from its
present location or in moving it back again at any time in the future that the City may have oc-
casion to require its return.

The Mayor appointed Ald. Harding as a committe of one to investigate -the cost of installing
a push-button system to connect the Fire House with the Electrie Light Plant.
On motion made by Ald, Price,seconded by Ald. Mintun,and carried by the unanimous vote of the
Council,the.Mayor appointed a Committee consisting of Aldermen Price,Pdintun,and Jackson to prepare
an Occupation Tax Ordinance for the City.
The Board of Improvement of East Center Street Improvement District Number One of the City
of Fayetteville,Arkansas submitted the following report,and on motion made by.Ald. Mintun,seconded
by Ald Price and carried by the following vote; AYes, Aldermen Price,Harding,Jackson,Phillips,Steph-

Improvement of East Center Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville,Ark-
ansas,respectfully beg to report that we have secured the services of RatliffaBird,of the City of
F•ayetteville,Arkansas,civil engineers,as engineers of said Improvement District;and that,under t
their direction and advice,plans and specifications,for the construction of the improvement set
forth in the Petition filed herein,have been prepared,and have been adopted by said Board of Imp-
rovement. A copy of said plans and specifications are hereiyj:th submitted to your Honorable Bo-
dy for its consideration.
The highest estimated cost of said improvement,exclusive ofVinterest charges,is the
sum of $,69628.46.
To assess the benefits against the different lots,,blocks,and parcels of real estate
within said District,we recommend that your Honorable Body appoint,by Resolution,as Assessors,

The City Engineer submitted a Report to the Council in reference to the stagnant water condi-

A communication from Mrs. A.14arinoni relative to traffic conditions at Arkansas Avenue and Ida
Street was submitted to -the Council,and on motion made by Aldo Jackson,seconded by Ald. Mintun and
carried by the unanimous vote of the Bouncil,this communication was received and filed.
Mr Bates appeared before the Council in reference to repairing and grading West Center Street,
and on motion made by Aldo Phillips,secoAded by Ald. Harding and carried by the unanimous vote
of the Council,the City Street Commissioner was directed to loan Mr. Bates the city equipment to
repair streets above referred to under the direction of the Street Commissioner.
Idr H.K.Wade appeared before the Council in reference to certain amounts due the•banks of the
City on Bonds issued by LaFayettejfjjX Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Faye
