Pursuant to call of the L;ayor, the City Council met at the usual hour,April llth,1923,and
�t roll -call there were present, The I.:ayor, Clerk, Aldermen Harding, Jackson, i.:intun, Price,
and Stephens, Absent, alderman Phillips.
The reading of t,:s minutes of the previous meeting was passed,and Alderman Price intro-
duced the following Ordinance,which was read the first time,whereupon Alderman Price moved that
the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading,this motion was seconded
by _.ldermai :.:intun,and carried by the following vote, Ayes, .aldermen Jackson, Llintun, Price
and Stephens, Zays Alderman Harding, absent and not voting, Alderman Phillips,and so declared by
the L:ayor, _ilderman Price then moved that the Rules be further suspended and the Ordinance place
on its third reading and final paasage,this motion was seconded by Alderman Jackson and carried
by the following vote, ryes alderman Jackson, I.:intun, Price and Stephens, Kays Alderman Harding,
absent and not voting Alderman Phillips,and so declared by the ::ayor, who then called for the
vote on the passage of the Ordinance,which was, Ayes aldermen Jackson, ::intun, Price and Stephenp.,I
Lays, _.lderman Harding, Absent and not voting Alderman Phillips. The mayor then declared the
Ordinance passed, and a copy is as ftllows;-

Section One. The salary of the office of I:iayor of the City of Faye'teville, Arkansas,is

hereby fixed and established at the rate of Fifteen Hundred per year, payable mopthly.
r Section Two. That this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after April 17th,
9231and its passage, approval and publication, and all Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict

the purpose of formulating a contract with an engineer as City :.ngineer for the ensuing two
years.

Alderman Jackson introducad the following Resolution and moved its adoption,•:hich motion was
secondad by..lderman Price and carried by the unanimous vote of the members precent,and so

Section One. That the Chief of Police is hereby instructed to keep_ the City anion Yard free
and clear of all horse traders,jock.ys and an and all persons except bona fide farmers who are
in the City to perform legitimate business.
Section Two, That no person be allowed to occupy said City .agon Yard for a period longer
than tut,renty-four hours,and it is made the duty of tha said Chief of Police to see that this
_tesolution is strictly enforced.
