HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922-11-27 Minutes762 O tJHLREaS,at a meting of the City Council of.the City of Fayettevblle, Arkansas, held on the 20th day of November, 1922, there was presented to the said City Council, by 1i.F.Drake, W.B.Stelzner, and F.O.Gulley, as the Board of improvement of 1.1ont Nord Improve- ment District Number One of the Uity of Fayetteville, Arkansas,their report, together with the plans and specigications of the work to be done in the constructi'bnof the improvement contemplated by the said Improvement District,and the said report having bean read in open maeting of said City Council,and the said plans and specifications having been exhibited to the said City Council and to each member thereof,with full and complete explanation of all the details thereof,and it appearing ,from said plans and specifications,that the estimated cost ofthe construction of the said improvement, exclusive of interest charges, is the sum of $19,814.00,and the said City Council being satisfied that the sadi plans and specifications will best subserve the purpose of the said Improvement District,and that *IT the same are correct; KO., 9THEREFO- ,BE IT RESOLVED BY TH.: CITY COUNCIL OF TH. CITY OF FAYETTEVILLi6, AR10 SAS; ' That said plans and specifications and said report, be, and the same are hereby approved and adopted; and -that said improvement be constructed according to said plans and specifications, and at a cost not to exceed, exclusive of interest charges,the sum of N192814.00. ' On motion by Alderman Harding, Seconded by Alderman Stephens;, building permit via was granted to I,rs. Lester Lollar, to errect residences on Lots 8,9,and10, Block 3 in Jennings Addition. Alderman Phillips introduced a resolution granting a permittoconstruct a swimming pool, and moved its adoption, which was seconded by Alderman Idintun,the vote on its adoption being; Ayes, Aldermen Harding, Jackson, &lintun, Phillips, Price ;Stephens. Nays none, absent and not voting,none. All that pact of Trenton Blvd, lying west of Park Street. 6ECTION THREE.That this resolution be in force from and after its passage and approval. A communication from The Budd Post Co., in refference to the presence of Popcorn venders ' On the Public Square, in front of business houses was read, and in response to the same, the dayor was requested to take the necessary steps for the removal of the same. � motion was made by Alderman Harding and seconded by Alderman Jackson, and passed by a unanimous vote that the Ivayor consult with the '.later Commissioners for the purpose of eecur- C� ing such a survey, by the City Engineer,as will show the quantity of water supplied by the Johnson airing, the amount of fall from the Spring to the pumping station on Clear Creek, and the land the City would have to acquire to render the same available for City use. The report of the Special Disbursing Agent was presented, and on motioniby Alderman Harding seconded by Alderman Stephens, was referred to the Auditing Committee. On motion by alderman Harding, seconded. by Alderman Price, The Hayor was instructed to confer with the Commissioners of `:allow Street Improvement District with reference to post- poning the collection of the assessments in said District to 1.1arch 1st9 1923. The report of the Committee appointed to confer with the County Judge in regard to the rent of rooms in the Court House was deferred to the next meng.
