Alderman Price moved that the bills of Fayetteville Lumber and gement Uompany for $12.95,and Lewis Brothers Hardware Company for $$7.65, be allowed and ordered paid,andtthatthe Clerk be instructed to issue warrant for same,which was duly secondd ed by Alderman nam. Resulted in the Bllowing vote; Ayes: Ald.Ham,Harding,Masaie, Price,Stephegs.Nayes: None. Absent and not voting,Ald.Jamkson. The Mayor declared 40 the motion adopted. Alderman Price moved that the Report of the Special Disbursing Agent be re- vatited and Ila* filed,which was duly seconded by Alderman Stephens. As as substitute motion,Alderman Massied moved that same be referred to the Finance Committee,which substitute motion was duly seconded by Alderman Ham. Resulted in the following vote; Ayes: Aid.Haff,,Harding,Mascie,Price,Stephens. Bayes: None. Absent and not voting,Ald. Jackson. The Mayor declared the substitute motion adopted. Alderman Maseied.moved that all accounts which were read be referred to the Auditing Committee,which was duly seconded by Alderman Stephens. Resulted in the fol- lowing vote; Ayes: Aid.Ham.Harding,Massie.Price,Stephens. Nayee,None. Absent and not voting,Ald.Jackson. The Mayor declared the amotion adopted. Alderman Massie moved that the Petition of H.E.Jackson for a sidewalk on Olive SSreet be referred to the Street Committee,with poweer to aot,which was duly seconded by Alderman Ham. Resulted in the following vote; Ayes: A1d.Ram.Harding, Massie,Price,Stephens. Nayes,None. Absent and not voting,Ald.Jackson. The Mayor de. clared the motion adopted. Alderman Harding moved that the Petition of N.F.Drake and Jay Fulbright with reference to cutting down Maple Street between Forest Avenue and Mock Street,be oc re- ferred to the Street Committee,which was seconded by Alderman Price. Resulted in the following vote; Ayes,Ald.Ham,Harding,Maosie,Price Stephens. Nayes,None. Absent and not voting,Ald.Jackson. The Mayor declared the motion adopted. Alderman Massie moved that the Petition of Mrs.L•D.Agee and othere,with ref- erence to appropriating $25.00 per month on the salary of the matron at the "epot,be referred to the Finance Committee,which wasduly seconded by Alderman Ham. XThe following Petition was read th the Council,to-wit: TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: The undersigned, your Petitioners, would respectfully represent and show that a Petition signed by more than ten property owners in the City of 11ayetteville,Arkan- sas,and within the territory described within said Petition,was presented to your Honorable Body on the 21st day of August,1.922,praying that your Body take all necese. ary steps for the dreation of an improvement District,embraced in the territory de- scribed in said Petition,foe the purpose of improveing by grading,rolling and paving with Asphaltic Pavement,the following Streets and parts of Streete,as may be more fully determined hereafter by the Baord of Improvement of said District,to-wit: Mock Avenue,from the North line of West Lafayette Street to the North line of West Maple Street; Forest Avenue from the North line of West Lafayette Street to the North line of Davidson Street; gest Maple Street, from the West line of Coll e Avenue to the East line of Mock Avenue; Highland Avenue, from the North line of West Maple Street to the North line of Davidson Street; Mt.Nord Street, from the West line of Forest Avenue to the East line of Mock Avenue; Davidson Street, from the West line of Highland Avenue to the East line of Forest Avenue. That your Honorable body passed an Ordinance numbered 461,1aying off the V 11 745 territory described in said Petition,and herein set forth,whieh Ordinance was duly passed on the 21st day of August,1922. That the said Ordinance was duly published in the "Fayetteville Democrat",mjt#bt� within twenty days after its passage,under the hand of the Clerk of the said City. Wherefore,the undersigned owners of real property situated within the District described within the said Petition and Ordinance herein set forth,pray that such im- provement be undertaken,and that the cost thereof be assessed and charged upon the real property situated within such District,and that the kidd atsaid District be for the purpose of carrying out the Improvement herein set forth. The kayor declared the resolution adopted,and a copy is as follows: RE S0LUTI ON. WHEREAS,on the 4th day of eptember,1922,there was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Dayettevilfe,Arkaneas,a petition purporting to contain the signatures of a majority in value of the owners of real property situated in Mont Nord Improvement District Number One of the City of gayetteville,Arkaneas; 74% .P NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: ` SECTION ONE. That a hearing of said petition to determine whether those persons who have signed said petition constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property situated in said improvement district will be held by said City Council at the mayor a office in said City of Fayetteville,Arkansae,on the 25th day of beptem- befi,1922,Eeginning at 7:30 P•M•of said day.
