REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL held June 2, 1922
Present, Mayor, Aid. Harding, Jackson, Massie, Price, Stephens.
Absent, Clerk, Aid. Ham,
Aid. Massie moved that C. T. Harding act as Clerk. Duly sec.
by Aid. Price. Motion was put and earried. Aid. Massie moved reports for '
the various City Officials for the month of May be referred to the Finance
Committee which was duly sec. by Aid. Jackson resulted in the following vbte:
Ayes, Aid. Harding, Jackson, Massie, Price, Stephens. Nayes, None. Absent,
not voting, Aid. Ham. The Mayor declared the motion adopted.
The following accounts against the City for the month of May
were read:to-wit:

Fay. Gas & Electric Co. 285.15

Whereupon, Aid. Stephens moved that the accounts as read be referrexd
to the Auditing Committee, which was duly sec. by Aldo Massie resulted in the
following vote: Ayes, Aid, Harding, Jackson, Massie, Price, Stephens. Nayes,
None. Absent, not voting, Aid. Ham. The Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Aid. Hadding moved that the regular meeting of the, City Council
be held the first acid third Monday nights in each month beginning June•19, which
was duly sec, by Aid. Massie resulted in the following vote: Ayes, Aid. Hardigg,
Jackson, Massie, Price, Stephens. Nayes, None. Absent, not voting, Aid. Han.
The Mayor declared the motion adopted. GU
Aid. Massie moved that the salary of the Night Vlatchman in
� be fixed end established at $50100 perm month beginning June 1, 19229
which was duly sec. by Aid. Price resulted in the following vote: Ayes, Aid.
Harding, Jackson, Lassie, Price, ff= Stephens. Nayes, None. Absent, not voting,
Aid. Ham. The Mayor declardd the motion duly adopted.
Aid. Massie moved that the Clerk be instructed to draw a warrant
in favor of Bob Curtis for $12.00 for back -salary which was duly sec. by Aldo
Harding resulted in the following vote: Ayes, Aid. Harding, Jackson, Massie,
Price, Stephens. Nayes, None. Absent, not voting, Aid. RadaftffMayor
declared the motion adopted.

The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Aid. Harding
moved that the accounts as read be allved and 6lerk draw a warrant for same which
was duly sec. by Aid. Jackson. Resulted inthe follmyting vote: Ayes, Aid, Harding,
Jackson, Massie,.Stephens. Nayes: None, Absent and not voting: Aid. Ham,
Price. Mayor declared the motion adopted. The/ following is a list of the ,

Aid. Massie moved that a permit be granted to A. We Town and V. C.
Lollar to build a residence subject to the approval of City Engineer,whichwas
duly sec. by Aid. Hording. Resulted inthe following vote: Ayes „ Aid. Harding,
Jackson, Massie, Stephens. Nayes: None. Absent, not voting, Aldo Ham, '
Price. The Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Aid. Harding moved that a permit be granted to We C. Hite to build a
septic tank under the supervision of the City engineer and Hite pay all the
fees and charges which was duly sec. b Aldo Massie. Resulted in the follvuvn ng
vote: Ayes, Aid. Harding, Jackson, Massie, Stephens. Nayes, None: Absent
not voting Aid. Ham Price. Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Ald. Massie introduced an ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 437
providing for the inspection of concrete sidewalks, curbing aid guttering end
to fix the compensation of the Insroector, which was read the first time.
Whereupon Aid. I. -lassie moved that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed
on its second reading which was duly sec. by Aid. Harding. Resulted in the
following vote: Ayes, Aid. Harding, Jackson, Massie, Stephens. Nayes; None.
Absent and not voting, Aid. Ham, Price. The Mayor declared the Motion
adopted.
A de arding moved that the rules be further suspended and the
Ordinance d upon its third reading and final passage which was duly
.sec, by Ald. Stephens. Resulted in the following vote: Ayes, Ald,
Harding, Jackson, Massie, Stephens. Nayes, None. Absent, not voting-,
Ald. Ham, Price, The Mayor declared the Motion adopted.
Question is Now shall the Ordinance pass as read? Vote was
taken with the following result: Ayes, Ald. Harding, Jackson, Massie
Stephens. Nayes, None. Absent, not voting, Ald. Ham, Price. The
Mayor declared the Ordinance duly passed and a copy is as follows:

CALLED Ain:ETING CITY COUNCIL HDID JUNE 27, 1922.
Present Ilayor, , Ald. Harding, Jackson, Massie, Price, Stephens, Absent
Clerk, Ald, Ham. Lloved and carried that Ald. Masse act as Clerk.
Colonel Armistead was present and asked the Council to grant privilege
tothe Am:rican Legion to bring a Carvinal Company to the city. 1dhereupon,
Ald. Harding moved to remit the license on the L. B. Holkemp Carnival Co.
so long as the shows are clean and orderly and to be shown for a week which
was duly sec. by Ald. Price. Resulted in the following vote: Ayes, Ald.
Harding, Jackson, Massie, Price, Stephens. Nayes: None. Absent, not
voting, Ald. Ham. Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Ald. Harding introduced an Ordinance regulating the parking of
vehicles within the city which was read the first tim; . Whereupon, Ald.
Harding moved that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed upon
a second reading whicAwas duly sec. by Ald. Price. Resulted in the follow-
ing vote: Ay s; A1d.Harding, Jackson, Massie, Pri e, Stephens. Nayes:
None. Absent, not voting, Ald. Ham. Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Ald. Harding moved that the rules be further suspended and the
Ordinance be placed upon its third reading and final passage. Which was
duly sec. by Ald. Price. Resulted in the following vote-, Ayes, Ald.
