HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922-03-17 Minutes71.6 REGULAR ZIE�TING CITY COUnCIL HELD MARCH 17th,1922, Present C1erk,Ald Harding,Jackson,hfassie,Price,Stephens,Absent Mayor,Ald Ham, Ald Massie moved that Ald Harding act as President Pro Tem, which was duly Sec by Ald Price, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Harding,Jackson,Massie, Price,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham, Clerk declared the Xtion adopted and Ald Harding takes the chair. e minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Ald Massie moved that the reports of the various City Officals for the month of February that have been O.K. by the Finance Committee be received and filed, which was duly Sec by Ald Jackson, resulted to the following vote Ayes Ald Harding,Jackson,hlassie,Price,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham, President Pro Tem declared the motion adopted. Co 272.90: A Petition from a number of Citizens asking for several Street lights in the Northwest part of the City was read, whereupon Ald Massie moved that same be referred to the Light Committee which was duly Sec by Ald Stephens, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Harding,Jackson,hiassie,Price,Stephens, Nayes none, Absent and not voting Ald Ham, President Pro Tem declared the motion adopted. Ald Massie introduced an ftlime3w Occupation Tag Ordinance which was read the first time, whereupon Hld Massie moved that the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee with instructions to confer with the Committee from the Chamber of Commerce, which was duly Sec by Ald Jackson, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Harding. Jackson, Mas sie,Price. Stephens ,Nayes none,Absent and noto voting Ald Ham,President Pro Tem declared the motion adopted. I.Ir F.P.Hall and others representing the Public Rth Library were present and asked that the matter be postponed by the Council in regard to the proposed levy for its support, whereupon Ald Massie moved that the Library question be postponed at the request of the committee, which was duly Sec by Ald Price, motion was put and carried, No further business coming before the Council moved and carried to adjourne to meet subject to call. Approved: Attest:' esident Paso Tem. Clerk. CALLED IYEETING CITY COUNCIL HELD March 24th,1922, Present Mayor C1erk,Ald Harding,Jackson,Massie,B=dme,Stephens,Absent Ald Ham,Price,. The Mayor stated he had received a communication from the Railroad Commission that they were to meet Officals of the Frisco R.R.Co. here relative to the Depot matter ax x on Saturday and he asked that the Coancil meet with them. Ald Massie moved that the City Engineer be instructed to establish sidewalk grades on South East Street between Rock and South Streets, which was duly Sec by Ald Harding resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Harding Jackson,hfassie,Stephens, Naves none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham,Price, 1.1ayor declared the motion adopted. The Light Committee requested that the Petition for a number of Lights in the North west part of the City be deferred for the present, which was granted.
