Ald Haring moved that the City Collector credit the pole license of the Light.Company with the amount of the Street light bill as -the bills are presented until the pole license is paid in full and said Collector to sign for the warrants issued in favor of said Light Company, which was duly Sec by Ald Massie, resulted in the following vote Ayes-Ald Harding,A4assie,Price,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham,Jackson,Mayor declared the motion adopted. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved. Mr.R.E,Wages appeared before the Council in support of his claim for grading on the Huntsville Raod, whereupon Ald Massie moved that the Clerk draw a warrant for the sum of $28.00 in favor of Wages Bros, which was duly Sec by Ald Price, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Idfassie,Price Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,laayor declared the motion adopted. CThis being the night to determine wh th ��__�O,,� not there is a majority in'assesed valuation signed up in the Willow N_rT Improvement Dist the Mayor appointed the following Committee to check over the res,Ald Massie and Harding. � The commitee retired and the Counciltaic er reaess. The Committee reported that there was a total of $148,45.00 in the Willow —*R -t Improvement District No 1. and there was a total of 8 ,585.00 signed up showing a majority of $7362.50. Whereupon Ald Massie introduced a Resolution finding that there is a majority signed up in assessed valuation, and moved its adoption, which was duly Sec by Ald Price, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massi�:,Price, Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Mayor declared the Resolution adopted and a copy is as follows: - '1 �n1` RESOLUTION. FSR -AS on the 5th da of November 1920 a y petition signed by more thab ten owners of real proeprty was presented to the Council, requesting that steps be taken to form an improvement district to embrace the property described and therein set forth; and WHEREAS, on the 3d day of December,1920, an Ordinance;numbered 410, was passed forming the said district as set forth in the above named petition; and WHEREAS, on the 7th day of January,1921, a petition was presented to the said Council, signed by persons claiming to constitute a majority in assessed -valuation of all real property ated within the district as set forth in said petition and ordinance aforesaid; and V1HEREAS, the Council did on the 4th day of November,1921,order and direct the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, to give notice by publication, once a week for two weeks, advising all persons that on the 2d day of December, 1921, the Council would take that last named petition under consideration, and would at that tiie determine whether or not same was signed by the majority in assessed valuation of all real property within the said district; and WHEREAS,said notice was so published by said Clerk in accordance.with law; and V1HE4REAS,said time for said hearing has arrived, and said hearing has been duly and properly had; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYI;TTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: • SECTION ONE:- That,after careful consideration, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,finds that there is a total assessed valuation of $148,445.00 of real property within said district, according to the last varied assessement on file in,the office of the County Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas, and that persons si Ming said petition own property within said district of the assessed valuation of 81,585.00,according to said assessment. SECTION 2. That it is the finding of said City Council of said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,'that-the majority in assessed valuation of mmiffxxsa owners of real property within Willow Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, have signed said petition; and the said district is hereby formed by said City Council of said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas. Section 3. In consideration of'the said above mentioned petition, the said City Council of the said City of Fayetteville,Arkansa.s, has been guided by the Certificate of the Circuit Clerk of said Count, of Washington, as to the assessed valuation -of said real property. 11 i95 Section 4. There was two petitions read to the Council asking for street lights to be ordered in on the corner of Douglas and Storer Streets and North Leverette Streets,Ald Massie moved that same be referred to the Light Committee,resulted in the follow- ing vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,llassie,Price,Stephens,Nayes none „Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Ivayor declared the motion adopted. A communication was read to the Council from the Light Company in regard to Street lights being broken out in various parts of the City,Ald Massie moved that the Light Committee confer with the Light Cc in regard to same and have said lights taken off of the bill, which was duly Sec by Ald Ham, motion was put and carried. Ald Harding introduced a Resolution to hold a meeting for the purpose of considering the passage of an order or ordinance fixing the rates to be charged by the Fayetteville Gas & Electrict Co. for current furnished to its patrons, and moved its adoption, which was duly Sec by A1dHam, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Price,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson ,Mayor declared the motion adopted, and a co2y is as follows: RESOLUTION. ' BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: SECTION OPE: That. on the 10 day of January,1922, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, will hold a meeting in the Mayor's Office, for the purpose of considering the passage of an Order or Ordinance,fixing the rates to be charged by the Fayetteville Gas & Electric Company of Fayetteville,Arkansas, for electric current furnished to its patrons. SECTIbN TWO; That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,be, and he is hereby, authorized and in to notify the said Fayetteville Gas & Electric Company of the passage of this Reolution, and to further notify them that a hearing will be had by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on the 10 day of January,1922, for the purpos of considering the passage of an Order or Ordinance, fixing the rates to be charged by the Fayetteville ' Gas & Electric Company of Fayetteville,Arkansas, for electric current furnished to its patrons. Mayor, Ald Massie introduced An Ordinance to amend Section Three of Ordinance Number 439,passed and approved November 18th,1921. which was read the first time,Whereupon Ald Massie moved that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed upon its second reading, which was duly Sec by Ald Stephens resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Price,Stephens,Nayes none, Absent and not voting Ala Jackson,Mayor declared the motion adopted. Ald Stephens moved that -the rules be further suspended and the Ordinance be placed upon its third reading and final passage, which was duly Sec by Ald Massie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham.Harding,Massie,Price,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson, Mayor declared the motion adopted. Ald Price moved that the acct of G.A.Hurst for the sum of $125.00 be allowed and Clerk draw warrant on the Genel Fund for same, which was duly Sec by Ald Harding,resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Price,Stephens, Nayes n,one,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson.Mayor declared the motion adopted. Moved aM carried to adjourne to meet subject to call. Attest: Clerk. CALLED ME:TING CITY COUNCIL HLLD DECEMBaR 9th,1921. Present Mayor C1erk,Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Stephens ,Absent Ald Jackson,Price. This meeting was called for the purpose of hearing from Mr Frank L.Wilcox of St.Louis on the plans and cost of new pumping plant for the Water Plant. Mr.Fulbright,Appleby and White, Water Commissioner were present. Mr Wilcox appeared before the Council and tEdgave a report submitting figures on the different plans of pumping the water,xxfs#eafter some discussion by all present no action was taken.at this time. Ald Aussie moved that the Clerk draw a warrant in £avot of Mr Wilcox for the sum of $125.00 which was duly Sec by Ald Ham, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Price,Mayor declared the motion adopted.
