The minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved.
Ald Massie moved that.the City Attorney take steps to protect the City's interest
in the Boles Will Case when it is probated, which was duly Sec by Aid Ham,
resulted in the following vote Ayes Ala Ham,Harding,Massie,Price,Stephens,
Nayes none,Absent Ald Jackson,Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Ald Price moved that the Mayor appoint a Committee of three to check with the
Telephone Co. of the number of poles and the total amount due the City to
July 1,1922, and turn the statement and report over to the City Attorney who
shall report the same to the City Council in writing, which was duly Sec by Ald
Massie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Price,Stephens,
Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Mayor appointed Ala Price,Massie,and Harding as the Committee.
Moved and carribed to adjourns to meet subject to call.

CALLED MEETING CITY COUNCIL HELD OCTOBER 28th,1921.
Present Mayor,Clerk,Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Stephens, Absent Ald Price,Jackson.
The minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved.
Mr Aumick was present and asked for a permit to build a residence, whereupon
Ald Massie moved that same be granted when he submits plans and specifications
to the City Engineer and is approved by the Engineer, which wgs duly Sec by A
Ald Harding, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,
Stepheiis,Nayes none, Absent and not voting Ald Price,Jackson,Mayor declared ,
the motion adopted.
The Committee appointed to check up the Telephone Pole License due the
City handed in their report, stating the amount due the City xxsxthR is
the sum of $2219.25, whereupon Ald Harding moved that the reports be received
and the Committee be discharged, which was duly Sec by Ald-Massie, resulted
in the following vote Ages Ald Ham,HaAding,Massie,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent
and not voting Ald Jackson,Price ,Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Ald Massie introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption,
leving the tax assessement for the year of 1921, which was duly Sec.by Ald
Stephens, resulted in the following vote.Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Stephens,
Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Price,Mayor declared the Resolution
duly adopted and a copy is as follows, to -wit: -

34b-�Op--� BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE-,ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That the rate of taxes for Fire Department purposes for the
year 1921,be and it is hereby declared to be One and One Half Mills on the
Dollar of the assessed valuation of all real and personal property within
the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,as shown by the
Assessement Books for County and State purposes,and the same is hereby
levied,and the Mayor and City Clerk of said.City are hereby authorized and
directed to Oertify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County
Arkansas, to the end that the said assessment may be placed on the Tax Books
and collected with the State and County Taxes.
Section 2. That the rate of Taxes for City General purposes for the
year 1921, be and it is hereby declared to be Five Mills on the Dollar of
the assessed valuation of all real and personal property within the corporate
limits of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,as shown by the Assessement Books
for County and State purposes,and the same is hereby levied, and the Mayor and
City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and directed to Certify this
levy to the County Clerk of Washington County Arkansas,to the end that the
said assessement may be placed x on the Tax Books and collected with the
Sgte and County Taxes.
Section 3. That the rate of Taxes for City Hospital purposes for the
year 1921,be and it is hereby declared to be One Mill of the Dollar of the
assessed valuation of all real pxx and personalxpasx$paty property within
the hex cor orate limits of the City of Fayetteville Arkansas as

shown by the Assessement Books for County and State purposese, and the same
are hereby levied, and the Mayor and City Clerk of said City are hereby
authorized and directed to Certify this levy to the County Clerk of

Ald Harding moved that the grades established by the City Engineer on this date
for the following named streets,to-wit:-
Huntsville Road from Mill Street to the East City Limits,Maple Street,from the
East line of Garland Avenue to the East line of Arkansas,Maple Street,from
the West line of Forrest Aveneu to the East line of Mock Street,Forrest
Avenue,from the North line of Lafayette Avenue to the South line of Davidson
Avenue; East Street,from the North line of Center Street to the South line of
Dickson Street,Block Street,from the North line of Center Street to the South
line of Dickson Street; Spring Street,from the West -line of College'Avenue to
the East line of School Street; and Meadow Street,from the West line of College
Avenue to the West line of Block Street, are hereby declared to be the Offical
Street grades and the same is hereby accepted and made of record, this was Sec
by Ald Stephens, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,
krtwm�;Stephens,Nayes•none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Price,Ivlayor declared
the motion adopted.
Ald Harding introduced An Ordinance establishing the Offical grades of certain
streets, which was read the first time, whereupon Ald Massie moved that the rules
be suspended and the Ordinance be placed upon its second'reading, which was duly
Sec by Ald Harding, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,
Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Jackson,Price,Mayor declared the
motion adopted.
Ald Massie moved that the rules be further suspended and the Ordinance be placed
upon its third reading and final passage, which was duly Sec by Ald Ham, resulted
in the followin- vote Ayes Ald Ham•,Harding,Massie,Stephens,Neyes none,Absent and
not voting Ald Jackson,Price.ldayor declared the motion -adopted.
Question is now shall the Ordinance pass as read, vote was taken with the
following result,Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Massie,Stephens,Nayes none,Absent and nJm
not voting Ald Jackson,Price,Mayor declared the Ordinance duly passed and a

ORDINANCE NUMBER 438.
AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE STREET GRADE
ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS:
Section One. That the Offical street grade'on Huntsville Road, from Mill
Street to the East City limits;Maple Street,from the East line of Garland Avenue
to the East line of Arkansas Avenue;Maple Street,from the West line of Forrest
Avenue to the East line of Mock Street; Forrest Avenue,from the North line of
Lafayette Avenue to the South line of Davidson Avenue; East Street,from the
North line of Center Street to the South line of Dickson Street; Block Street,
from the North line of Center Street to the South line of Dickson Street;
Spring Street,from the West line of College Avenue to the East line of School
Street; and I:ieadow Street,frbm the West line of College Avenue to the Vilest line
of Block Street, be and the same are hereby offically and duly fixed and established
as shown by the tracing filed with and duly accepted by the City Council on the
28th of October,1921.
Section Two. That all Street improvements,sidewalks,curbing,guttering,service
pipes,conduits',flush tanks,man-holes,water or sewar mains,or other public or
private construction of whatever nature hereafter built or constructed in parts
of the Streets named in Section One hereof,shall be so built or constructed in
acccordance with the street grade hereby established and any construction that
maybe hereafter made not in accordance with this grade shall not be accepted.
Section Three. That this Ordinance be in force from and after its passage,
approval and publication; and all Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
