The minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved. Chief Hansard of the Fire Dept was present and reported some fire Hydrants out of working order, whereupon Ald Harding moved that the Mayor be instructed to request the ';later Cox: Commissionets to have the Fire Hydrants around the Square repaired, which was duly sec by Ald i.assie, resulted in the following vote ,"yes Ald Ham. The reports of the various City Officals for the month of Tay was read, whereupon ' Ald Harding moved that the reports be referred to the Finance Committee, which was d -al,; sec by Ald Jackson, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ham,Harding,Jackson. A communication from a Company to place receptacles around the business part of the city to rut all of the old papers was read, whereupon Ald lassie moved to refer same to i;he Street Comittee, which was duly sec by Ald Price, motion put and carried. A Petition from a number of Citizens asking the Council to order in Street light at or near the trestle rxx on the Prairie Grove road was read to the Council, whereupon Ala Price moved that the Petition be referred to the Light Comittee with -Domer to act, which was duly sec by ald Stephens, resulted in the following vote "yes :ld Ham,Ilarding,Jxm6m Jackson,i.assie,Price ,Stephens ,l:ayes none,Absent and not voting none,I.:ayor declareC the motion adopted.
