Present :.:ayor,Clerk,Ald Ham,Harding,Jackson,I.assie,Price,Stephens.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved.
A. petition from 1.i.I.i.i.1cRoy and others was _rresented to the Council asking that
steps be taken to stop blasting on the quarry in the 111iorth East part of the City
on account of damaging the near by property, after some discussion Aid Harding
moved the i.ayor take steps to stop the blasting and the Petition be referred to
a Committee to report at the next meeting, which was duly sec by Aid Stephens,
resulted in the £olling vote A.es Aid Ham,Harding,Jacksoni,i.Iassie,Price,Stephens,
Hayes none,Absent and not voting none,Layor declared the motion adopted and
appointed Aid Jackson,iiassie and Harding as the Committee.
I.ir.Roy.Vickers vias present and presented plans and specifications asking for a
permit to erect a building on the corner of School and Dickson Streets, wh re -upon
Aid Harding moved that the Council grant the permit to l.ir Vickers when he receives
the recommendation of the City Engineer, which was duly sa by Aid Ham, resulted
in the following vote Ayes Aid Ham ,Farding,Jackson,i.assie atephens,I?ayes none,
Absent and not voting none,T.ayor declared the motion adopted.
The reports of the various City Officals for the month of A-,:ril vias read,
whereupon Aid Harding moved that the reports be referred to the Finance Committee
which was duly Sec by Aid Lassie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Aid Ham,
Harding,Jackson,I.assie,2t-epPrice,Stephsmp, I:ayes none,hbsent and not voting none,
i.ayor declared the motion adopted.
The Bond of W.F.Stirman was -resented to the Council and read, whereupon Aid
Harding moved that the Bond of Judge Stirman be approved and filed, which eras
duly sec by Aid Ham, resulted in the following vote Ayes Aid Ham,Harding,Jackson,
i.;assie,Price,Stephens,l?ayes none,Absent and not voting none,Layo-r declared the
motion adopteo.

A notice from the State Auditor was read stating that the stun of i69�85 was due
the City of Fayetteville from the sale of delinquent lands, whereupon Ald Harding
moved that the City Treasurer be directed to.draw upon the State Treasurer for
the said amount. of 594.50, which was duly sec by Ald Price, resulted in the
follo•c-ring vote Ayes old Ham, Harding Jackson ,Ilassie,Price. Stephens, eyes none,
bsent and not voting none,i.ayor declared the motion adopted.
The following communication from the Board of Public Affairs was read to -wit:

Gentlemen: -
We respectfully request that authority be granted
the Board of Public Affairs to enter into a contract for the purchase Of One
Thousand (1000 ) feet of standard of Fire, hose, at a price not to exceed
' Fourteen Hundred ({?1400.00) Dollars, and to that end vie request that the
Ordinance hereto attached be passed by your Honorable body.

Section One; That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any persor_,firm
s° or corporation to dig into any paved or other wise permanently improved
(p- street within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,
without first having filed with the Layo-r and City Council,a written application
for permission to so dig into such street,and without having obtained from
said I.ayor and City Coiulcil,such permit.
Provided,. that said L:a; or andxP±tTxft=a±lsaid City. Council shall not under
any circumstances issue any such permit until said applicant shall have deposited
� J'ej with the City Treasurer a cash bond, for the purpose of guaranteeing the
replacement of s_.id street in as good condition as the same was before the same
was dug into by the said apllicant, said cash bond bxx shall be in any amount
ixed by the City Engineer of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, not less than
VVV Fifty (050,00.) Dollars,, nor more than One Thousand (9`1000,00) Dollars.
Section `i'vo: If any person,firm or corro-ration shall so dig into such
street, the same shall be repaired by. such person,firm or corporation, at
his own proper expense,and in a manner to be approved by the City Engineer of
the City of Fayetteville,r•_rkansas. Provided, when such repairing is so made
and approved and paid for,then the said City Engineer shall authorize the
City Treasurer to pay back to said applicant the stun so deposited by him,
less the fee of the City Engineer to be fined by the City Council. In case
s�-id applicant shall fail,refuse xor neglect to repair said street,then
in that event the said City of Fayetteville,or its designated agent, shall
repair said street,paying for same out of the money so deposited by said '
applicant,with said city treasurer,and the balance of the money,if any,
shell then be returned by said City Treasurer to said applicant.
Section Three: Any Person,firm or.corporation vttx violating any
a , of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than One
Hundred (:'100.00) Doolars nor more than One Thousand (E)1000.00) Do & ars.
Section Four: That all Ordinance and parts of Orfinancea in

East Street Improvement District Number One and Auulex 1?umber One.
Ald Ham moved that the Board of Improvement of East Street Improvement of.
East Street Improvement District Number One is advised that the Council will
pass the necessary Ordinances,resolutions or orders to order Property owners '
to construct curbs and gutters in.the District, which was duly sec by Ald
Price
