The Committee appointed on the Vetinary hospital matter submitted the following report which was read to the Council, to -writ: To the Mayor and City Council, Your Committee, appointed to investigate the matter of.granting a permit to Dr.J.F.Standford to erect an annex to the vetinary hospital, submits the following report;. The proposed annex, according to the plans and specifications submitted by the.City Engineer, complies with the requirents of the City Ordinances applicable to'the matter. I The surrounding property will not be injured or endangered by the building of the annex, as it will materially improve the appearance of the hospital property, and will more effectually protect the other property from contact with,and _'rom sight of the work done in the hospital, than does the present arrangement. The City Board of Health, in a communication signed by I-Jr.W.J.Reynolds the Secretary, expresses the opion that the institution can be run in a sanitary condition, and promises to see that is so conducted in the future..',; The letter of is.Reynolds is hereto attached and made' a -cart of this report. • In view of the foregoing your committee recomends that the City Council take action at once on the application for permission to build. Providing for the Payment of 012,500.00, in five equal annual instalments, towards the erection of a necessary Annex to the Fayetteville City Hospital, and Providing for .the issuance of City Warrants, or Scrim therefor. ';ihereas, the City Hospital of the,City of Fayetteville is in great need of addit- ional rooms, and the Trusties are making an effort to build an Annex to the building, and are in urgent need of N25,000.00, txx and Whereas, The leving Court of Washington County has appropritated, i ;12.500.009 towrds the payment of the same, conditioned upon the City of Fayetteville paying a like sumpand ',Thereas,it is necessary for the Trustees to have Iffarrants of tuh'e•County and City to place as collateral in order to proceed with the building,; 1T0':! ZH,dREFORE, Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Section 1. That the Mayor of the City, cause a series of Five warrants to be issued for Trio Thousand Five Hundred Dollars Q2.500.00 each, payable oz the 15th day of July of each year, the first to be payable July l th 1921, and the others con- i on- , seeutively thereafter, that said riarrants be made payable to the Trustees of the Fayetteville City Hospital, and that he deliver said warrants to said trustees. Section 2. The City Council hereby binds itself to make sufficient' levy each year to meet the payment of said warrants, and to pay the same at maturity. T.ayor The following Contract was read, towit: Agreement, between the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, of Washington County,Arkansas,Party of the First Part and the Trustees-of the Fayetteville City Hospital,Parties of the Second Part, taitnesseth, The P arty of the First Part has Passed Ordinance 1To 41S_ whereby Two Thousand Five Hunared Dollars2,500.00 is to be paid to the Party of the Second Part each year for a period of Five Years towards the payment for the erection of the Annex to the City Hospital, iTow it is agreed and understood that the City Council willlevy one mill special tax each .year to meet said Payment, and should such levy -fail to Produce a sufficient sum to meet such payaent each year then the Parties of the secon Part are'to pay the difference out of the City Hospital Funds. this 1st day of April,1921.
