The minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved. Mr.Tom Taylor appeared before the Council asking for a donation for a bridge at East Fayetteville, after some discussion the matter was deferred until the Council could get more information in regard to some work the Street Commis ioner did on the street leading to the bridge. I,Lr. M. Baum appeared before the Council asking for a permit to move;a house on to a lot on.Highland Ave and to build a room or too to same, whereupon Ald !,lassie moved that the Council grant a permit to Mr. Baum, which was duly sec by Ald Ambrose, resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding,I,lassie,Stephens.Wages, Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham, Mayor declared the motion adopted. I,ir.Hawkins appeared before the Council asking that the Council take steps to allow the Taxi Car Oemers to get increased rats fares for hauling passengers, no action was taken at this time. Ald Harding moved that the reports of the various City Officals for the month of September that have been O.K. by the Finance Committee be received and filed, which was duly sec by Ald I.lassie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding,Massie, Stephens,?'lages,ilayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham,I:ayor declared the motion adopted. The Finance Committee handed in the following reports to -wit: Police Judge Fines Col $186.55,Street Tax Col x$2.00, Total Amt Col I'd88.55 „ City Collector Street Fund 0382.00,Genl Fund $507.05,City Clerk License Issued $238.25, Auto License Plates Issued $125.00, Truck License Plates Issued $10.00,Taxi Tags Issued X50.00, Vihikle Tags Issued $23.00, Total Amt Issued $446.25. Street Commissioner I.Ioney Expended for September 0820.00 Ald Harding moved to allow the accounts against the City for the month of September that have been O.K. by the Auditing Committee, and Clerk draw warrants for same, which was duly sec P by Ald Wages, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding, Massie, Stephens, Wages,Nayes none, Absent and not voting Ald Ham,Mayorz declared the motion adopteda.,,.f� iE The Auditinghhanded in the following accounts, to -wit: J.H.Phipps Lbr.Co. $13.22,i7.L.Crouch N6.20,City Transfer Co.�5.00,17.R.Moore 19.509 Fay Gas & Elect.0o.y253.95,Fay Republic 10.75. The Council recommended that the City Collector sign up for the Light account and keep same to apply on the Pole License that is due the City. Ald Harding moved that the Council appoint Marshall Douglas and Leland Bryan as f Commissioners for East Lafayette Avenue Improvement District NumberLOne, in the place of J.J.Baggett who is now deceased and C.A.1h llaholland who has moved away from the City, this motion was duly sec by Ald Massie, resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding,Ilassie,Stephens,tlages,ldayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham, l.Iayor declared the motion adopted. The question of the salary of the Nogkx ks Night Policeman came up before the Council after some discussion Ald Ambrose moved that the Salary of the Night Policeman be the sum of ,x60.00 per month per month beginning October 1st,1920, and Clerk draw warrant for the balance due said flight Policeman on Octobers salary, which was duly sec by Ald !.Lassie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald ,'ilnbrose.Ram.Harding,l.lassie, Stenhons.Jages,Nayes none,Absent and not voting none,iTayor declared the motion adopted. Ald ';!ages moved that the sum of 560.00 be allowed out of the Street fund as the City's donation to the Bridge at East Fayetteville, acid the Clerk draw awarrant in favor of Tom Taylor for the said sum of `y60.00, which was duly sec by Ald Harding, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald mbrose,Ham,Harding,:.;assie,Stephens,':lages, IT ayes none,Absent anc not voting none,Layor declared the motion adopted.
